A cautionary tale ...

I have acquired a Tek 2225 as a 50MHz analogue alternative to my TDS744A
but before I powered it on I took the case off to make sure nothing had
shaken loose in transit (I make that a policy for mains powered stuff).

Everything was OK but I did find a loose screw rolling around in the PSU
area !!!

I am very glad I gave the thing a "once-over" or I would have allowed
the "magic smoke" to escape !!!

I seem to remember someone else finding loose screws.

One place I worked always played an air line around the kit before
putting the covers on looking for surplus/dropped screws and other rubbish.

BTW I'm very pleased with the 2225, works nicely and is a bit more
portable than the 744A.? I'd have preferred a 2235, but I may get one of
those as well - just don't tell the wife !!! ;-)

Now at 5 and counting ;-)
