should work fine¡ the pic is nice¡..
this zener controlled the pull-up current in the final horz stage, it¡¯s not super critical, it will just change the gain slightly, you may not need a recalibrate¡.. buy or raid from an old pc mother bd, a small 10mhz- 80 mhz......crystal oscillator with a square wave output and feed the scope. then check the scope at the proper time base setting and adjust the X1 gain for the right timing, then the 10X gain. or better yet get you a Tek time mark generator and have some more fun¡

Hi Ed. the zener is VR4341, Tek part No. 152-0166-00. I'm not sure if the
zener is used as a reference voltage. I believe it is part of the
horizontal amp circuit and bridges the two balanced amplifiers that lead to
the deflection plates. The part I purchased from Mouser Manufacturer Part #
1N5234B-TR. I'm not sure if this is a direct replacement for the Tek part
number. I guess I could google the part number and see what the equivalent
component is.
