Yup.? Imagine if you could look on line and see the name and address of every owner of every automobile on the road.? You could see where it came from, its destination, how often it changed lanes, and how fast it was driving.
How long do you think the general public would put up with that?

I pointed out this hazard over a decade ago.? Basically every time an airplane is started, Big Brother knows where and by whom.? They know where you¡¯re going and where you¡¯ve been.? My initial concerns were about how easy it would be for Big Brother to then simply send you a bill for your usage of any aerospace infrastructure.? Unintended consequences? -- I¡¯m not so sure. ? ? How long will the general public put up with that??? Are you kidding me.? Aviation is not viewed as in the interests of ¡°the general public¡±.? The general public has already been conditioned to view personal aviation as a nuisance and a hazard.? Their vote counts the same as yours, and there are a lot more people who, through jealousy and ignorance, want to remove private aviation than there are to facilitate it.? Big Brother views the airspace is a resource to be used by big industry, preferably a gov¡¯t granted monopoly to folks in the power elite.? The CAA (which became the FAA) was formed specifically to create and regularize the airspace for exploitation by ¡°the airlines¡±.? Good intentions?? Probably, to some degree.? Intention of excluding or at least restricting troublesome private aviation freedoms?? Yes.? All in the name of safety?? How has that worked out. ? Cheers! ?

It's actually not Big Brother; there is no doubt ADS-B improves safety and situational awareness, but when big business gets involved, that is when the problem starts. Big business only sees dollar signs, and they worked hard selling the fee ideas to many airports around the country. That's why there needs to be regulations against them. If an airport receives federal grants and FAA funding, it shouldn't be allowed to collect any fees.

I fly half the time in England
There is no aviation policy at all outside of catering to airlines. Airfields are getting closed down left and right.? Council ¡°permissions¡± to build hangarage is routinely denied with $18 equivalent landing fees for each landing and even a fly by.? An awful situation.

? Cheers! ? ? Yup.? Imagine if you could look on line and see the name and address of every owner of every automobile on the road.? You could see where it came from, its destination, how often it changed lanes, and how fast it was driving. How long do you think the general public would put up with that? ? A little history:
The FAA was formed in 1958. The first administrator was Retired General Elwood Quesada. For Quesada's term he was primarily an errand boy for American Airline's CEO C.R. Smith. Smith hated the mere concept of private flying. Private flying has been going downhill ever since.
ADSB is simply the latest step by FAA to eliminate those dangerous and annoying Piper Cubs.?
A substantial expansion of Class C airspace is the next step.?
AOPA is a totally worthless organization. There main purpose seems to be to separate their members from obscene "dues" so they can pay their CEO an annual salary of 1 million.?
The FAA is aided and abetted by "the children of the magenta line". The majority of the children spend enough on their instrument panels to build at least three Tailwinds. The children believe that anyone who does not have ADS B equipment is mentally ill.?
The DC midair is the fifth midair collision between aircraft in ADSB required airspace. The gotcha factor is that the DC Helo had a switch to turn off ADSB. The FAA approved the military turning off ADSB.? A civilian who gets caught turning off ADSB will have their certificate REVOKED.
July will be my tenth trip to Wisconsin with my W10. Two of those have continued to New York State. I do not have ADS B. AZ to WI has not been an issue but IL to NY has been an issue, especially deviating around weather.
I have an ADSB unit but am undecided whether I am going to install it.?

In a perfect world anyone who had any involvement in the authorization of the helicopter route or allowing the ADSB to be turned off should be indicted for manslaughter and if convicted put in a really bad prison.? In Bravo airspace the minimum separation between IFR and VFR traffic is 500' The collision took place at 325' and the helo was supposed to be at 200'.? Years ago I did two back to back flights Atlantic City to New York LaGuardia. VFR with Bravo clearance I had violation of separation incidents that were caused by the controller on both flights.?

That's the scary part - - - - the PIC was, I think, staying current in her assigned role- - - flying out officials in the face of nuclear war.? And I agree, nobody used their head about turning off the ADS-B.? And the controller supervisor needed to do their job right, not squeeze payroll.??

A few years ago I put 2 experimentals?in the air, a Kitfox and a Tailwind.?The experience on the paper applications was intuitive and went well. My recent attempt to secure an airworthiness certificate for an Acro Sport II has let me know that the FAA would rather eliminate the experimental aircraft category. The rep assigned to my app. at FSDO answers the phone "Can I help you". What a joke. The last 2 times I called him it went to his message in box, "Sorry the inbox is full". The FSDO has let me know the names of DARS in my area. They no longer want to get off their fat asses to inspect an aircraft......unless it is a certificated aircraft!
