I have been involved ¡°checking a pilot out¡± in a Tailwind for insurance although not a CFI. Just what ever the insurance company will live with.

Re: insurance
Bob, I'm about 135 lbs soaking wet, so W&B should not be an issue. I think
I have a closer option to get some tailwind time if we can manage to mesh

Re: insurance
Brian,
Do you have to be PIC for the hour in a Tailwind (can you be acting as
non-PIC CFI)? If CFI works I am willing to pay you for a BFR assuming we
both fit in my airplane and you come to Abilene

I am in Hutchinson, Kansas about 45 miles NW of Wichita. I am trying to get
a more specific reading from my insurance agent as far as what they
require. I have flown several ag planes and sailplanes

Re: insurance
I only got liability insurance on mine only because the airport required it for the hangar rental. Hull insurance is just simply absurd. I figure that since I built my plane, I'll just rebuild it

I'm in the process of buying the Schultz tailwind that has been on

Re: Tailwinds for sale
Once I get the prop dialed back in wide open throttle at 7500 feet is good
for about 190 to 195 miles an hour. Current prop pitch is too flat.
You can check my prior posts for some photos of the

Re: Tailwinds for sale
Just curious as to the performance numbers you observed during your short
flight - MAP, rpm gps & IAS, altitude, ambient temp...?
Looks like a nice TW !

Attached is where I mounted my elt! It's directly under my baggage floor and just behind the passenger seat which allows easy access by remove seat only. I was thinking about putting an access door in

Re: ELT Antenna Mounting location INSIDE fuse?
Be sure to have an adequate ground plane when utilizing a vertically polarized antenna.
Approximately 18¡±.
It doesn¡¯t need to be square, or even rectangular. A single, well grounded wire

Re: ELT Antenna Mounting location INSIDE fuse?
Andy,
I mounted my antenna very similar to where and how Bill mounted his.? My actual ELT is located on the diagonals just below and to the rear where Bill has his antenna mounted.
