When I installed my oil pump I squirted it full of Lucas assembly lube, which is pretty viscous. However, it’s now been sitting for some time so I’m sure it has drained down by now. -- Warren 89

Yes, this also relieves some of the head pressure from the pump, especially if you pre-filled the filter with oil. I couldn't get the pump to prime with the filter installed despite many attempts. It

I got this thing all timed up and running again. Close call! Compression checked out on all cylinders. Everything lined up perfectly with the new belt. Just a tip for anyone trying to prime a new oil

Good idea on the battery. I’ve also seen people put their diesel heater tanks there too to keep it out of the interior of the van.

Today I got the hoses from the fuel tank to the fuel pump plus the FI return connection to the tank all connected. ?I used 1/2 inch fuel line from the tank to the fuel pump and 5/16 fuel injection

I got the crossover pipe installed. I used silicone grease and the nipples slipped right in. The hard part was reaching in to do the job, especially the driver’s side. -- Warren 89 Westy 88
