Re: Stumble/misfire under load EJ22
Probably not too relevant, but two Subie engines ago in our '90 Syncro Westie was from a '93 SVX, Small Car installed. It had a tendency to stall when dropped quickly to idle unloaded (e.g., coasting

Re: Stumble/misfire under load EJ22
I have an 82 conversion to an EJ25 with small car components. Have had and maybe still have the problem but was told to look at the various fuel line/tank/and fuel filter diameters.? The problem

Re: Stumble/misfire under load EJ22
I'm not sure if this applies or not.Could it be a vacuum leak / loose vacuum line? I have a 92 ej22 in an 87 doka.During my most recent smog check we couldn't get it to idle correctly. It had been

Stumble/misfire under load EJ22
Hey all, I¡¯ve got a KEP EJ22 conversion from a 1992 Legacy in my 1982 Vanagon. I suddenly started getting a stumble/loss of power/misfire at cruising speed that is exacerbated under acceleration,

Re: Idle Issues.
"Just the various misfire codes..."? What does this mean? Stumble when coming to a stop, then at idle. I would give the IACV a good cleaning again and clean the throttle plate. Also check the VSS gap

Re: Idle Issues.
I wasn¡¯t really trying to insinuate the oil change did anything. Personally i had more so correlated to pure coincidence. No change in oil viscosity though.

Re: Idle Issues.
my question is why would changing the oil make things worse?? .. same viscocity ? is the oil up to temp . if its not increased strain from thick oil i would suspect something to do with compression

Very thorough, including smoke test at Throttle Body and IACV.....just a longshot guess, but did you use brand new gaskets for both?? I've had weird idle and "pop-pop-pop" in exhaust when

Re: Idle Issues.
I have brand new injectors in it. I had diy cleaned the originals, but wanted to see if new would address the smaller hiccup i was having. Neither did the trick.

Mine engine was doing the same and after changing the injectors, it ran smooth again.? Maybe clean the injectors in an ultra sound cleaner, and rebuild them with new filters. You can send the

Idle Issues.
I have noticed a slight stumble at idle when I have come to stops over the last several months. It would happen every 10 seconds when idling for extended periods (stop lights, etc). Seemed like more

Re: Cold Start Issue
I had a similar problem. Do you have a spare fuel pump relay? I swapped out a fuel pump for nothing, when it was a bad fuel pump relay. I got a relay from the junk yard and it fired up right away.
