as i understand, there was really no such thing as an obd-1 standard - there were no standard protocols or connectors, so pretty much anything in the few years before obd-ii counted as obd-1. subaru's

If i understand your question correctly i'd advise using the larger intake manifold fitting for your vanagon brake booster and the smaller one for your vacuum feed(s) to the charcoal cannister. You
