2006 EJ25 in a 91 2WD Westy with auto tranny
We're trying to install this engine using a KEP engine support. We can't close the engine bay lid unless we had 2 inches spacers. Is that the only solution? Also looking for a steel exhaust manifold.

Re: VSS in Syncro
suspect you are talking about a SOHC 2.5 which may be different in its VSS needs, and, I put a Dan Flemming VSS simulator on a 97 DOHC 2.5 and it sure made that engine and system happy.

Re: Fuel Injector choices...
It takes special tool to remove injectors without destroying them. There are many fuel injector cleaning companies all around USA, much better deal than buying new ones they replace O-rings and caps

Re: Loss Power, CEL O2 Code, and smog test.
Thanks, do I check that with some sort of backpressure reading or take it out and look thru it? Never done it. I'm not ruling that out, but I think It's the injectors, just waiting for a new one.

Re: Loss Power, CEL O2 Code, and smog test.
Update: unplugging injector #2 doesn't change the way it runs.....I'm guessing that a problem. The "new" injector was from the pile of parts. are there different JDM injectors? -Andy

Re: engine dies after rapid decelleration
if it's an OBD-I Legacy 2.2 .. the IAC valve has two phillips screws.. loosen those, rotate IAC valve left or right, to tweak idle rpm up or down a tad. A VSS is usually recommended also.

Re: engine dies after rapid decelleration
I experience very similar symptoms with a 92 EJ22. After ensuring that the IAC was clean and functioning correctly I installed a VSS which solved the problem for good. I'd suggest you try the same.
