Rigo-built garage is a wonderful subaru shop on the East side of paso. They rebuilt and transplanted an ej22 into my '81 campmobile and also helped out on other power train repairs that other shops

If you do go with SCP for the repair, see if they can drive it down to Portland where you can pick it up. If they do that, you'll save $$$ on sales tax and make up for the shipping costs.

Being in PHX you are close to the conversion shops in S CA. They might be worth a call. And IIRC there is a list on here of shops and feedback that work on conversions. A friend here in Albuquerque

Try a leak down test instead. (Amazon, kits for ~$40) No need for starters or transmissions, just a socket to turn the crankshaft. You will need an air compressor for this and some knowledge of TDC

So he isn’t close, but he IS crazy fast. I sent mine to mr injector in Idaho, he had them fully rebuilt tested with documented bench test and spray pattern etc in 6 days. He charges 22 per injector.
