So he isn’t close, but he IS crazy fast. I sent mine to mr injector in Idaho, he had them fully rebuilt tested with documented bench test and spray pattern etc in 6 days. He charges 22 per injector. Pretty amazing service and he has a stellar reputation. Google search him. Highly recommend

Yeah, I was wondering about topic wonder too BUT the?ac compressor is a valid Vanagon engine conversion issue because:
1) some direct subaru fit compressors are no longer made? 2) the pipe connections are specific whereas?the FS10 has generic connections so use in an alternate vehicle easily with generic fittings 3) the?volume of a vanagon is more than?2x the volume and exponential sun-exposed body surface area of a subaru wagon so the subaru compressor at about 6 cubic inches capacity may be better replaced with the FS10's 11 cubic inches.

Uh...not sure Eric.? I am so on many of these discussions; it is the only way to preserve the beast, every little clue you can get.? I don't even want to say..Maybe Vanagon Cafe, maybe Vanagon Owners Group.? I think both of those are good groups.? You will see a lot of cross posters like me.? No, they are not going for fame, they want success for all of us, that is their desire.? My take?? Go for Group 41 if you can find it; go for T5 at Walmart if you can't.

Having a very meaningful discussion on Facebook regarding Starter Batteries, and I am sure some of those folks ask with regard to Subaru Motors and Starting Motors.? Sure, Subie is Higher Compression, takes a little more Umph.? But slick if all OK.? Next, folks candidly asking, is a Group 41 battery better than a T5 from Walmart?? I honestly think even Warren Chapman would like to get in on this discussion for overall performance.? Only a $50 difference cheaper, but they sure fit nicer or so I have been told.? From what I know, batteries wear out over time, like 7 or 8 years...just the way it goes.

The other is inside my dashboard.? ?Each evaporator /heater unit supposedly has a capacity of 1.5 T (18k) has its own TXV. It works ok, but is a bit under sized.? I also have separate heater valves for the front and rear boxes.
I used the standard Subaru compressor.
What else did you do to increase the capacity of the AC to 32K?

I have a 92 ej22 and the original VW starter in my 81 westy and used to have a 50 AH agm behind the passenger seat.? ?Didn't spin very fast.? ?I moved? the battery to under the back seat (and now store shoes where it used to live).? The original starter now spins with vigor thanks to the shorter electrical connections.? ?Maybe a direct ground wire from the original spot would provide the same effect?
We really want to create more storage.? Beyond exploiting space between the inside and outside walls, I'm now thinking of moving the battery to the underside.? ?The question is where.? ?Thoughts?

Regarding starter and battery discussion:
- Any pre '86 Vanagon will have lighter gauge battery cable running back to starter. Easy to retrofit the later, heavier cable (or fab one; marine battery cable is readily available)
- Ditto starter motors. Later 2.1 Bosch starter motors have significantly?more torque than earlier motors
- The Bosch TDI starter is very robust, and needs ample current (at least 2.1L cable or better)
- I have an aftermarket gear reduction starter in my '85 SVX Westy, but it's becoming finicky after 12 years. Probably go with TDI starter next...
- T1 and T2 transporters all had batteries back in the engine compartment. With T3, assume designers hoped to address weight distribution somewhat. Bit academic, particularly with Westfalias, I would guess. Suggest use existing battery cable to take primary power forward if you relocate?battery; voltage drop will be minimized

I have a 92 ej22 and the original VW starter in my 81 westy and used to have a 50 AH agm behind the passenger seat.? ?Didn't spin very fast.? ?I moved? the battery to under the back seat (and now store shoes where it used to live).? The original starter now spins with vigor thanks to the shorter electrical connections.? ?Maybe a direct ground wire from the original spot would provide the same effect?
We really want to create more storage.? Beyond exploiting space between the inside and outside walls, I'm now thinking of moving the battery to the underside.? ?The question is where.? ?Thoughts?

Check this out... Also came up with a corner eat to tie it down in there .... If you go this direction let me know when you have the battery and I'll send some pics of the tie down

I used the Subaru donor battery ground cable as a new/extra starter
ground from the starter lower mount bolt to the frame. After that the
stock 84 starter did a fine job on the 2.2.
