Re: How are folks topping off oil levels?
Ok, I’m relatively certain that it should work on the ej22, but I’m sure they’ll confirm that. I’ve run both an ej22 and 25 and i remember the oil fill being identical. So the entire oil fill

Re: How are folks topping off oil levels?
Thanks. I saw this on the Van Café site, but didn’t pay much attention to it since it’s intended for EJ25. I did reach out to RMW about when they’d have an EJ22 solution, but no answer as

I was in the same boat as you. I used 1 in spacers, then didn't like how low the oil pan was. So i end up cutting the engine lid, only where needed. After I cut it I made a cover out of aluminum. You

Re: Possible intake manifold swapping
My 07 2.5 installation only required 1 inch spacers to fit under the lid. Not sure why your intake is so much taller. I really have not heard of an installation needing more than 1 inch spacers. Maybe

Re: Recommendations for Starting Battery
Everstart Group 41 always worked for me with an 02 2.5L in my 88 AT. A ground cable from the starter ground to the frame is recommended. See threads on theSamba. The 86-91 VW starter is just adequate.
Possible intake manifold swapping
Y’all have way more experience with this than I do. I have a 82 Westy and a 05 Impreza ej25. I have the Kennedy support and adapter. When I put it in originally, it was too tall to clear the lid so
