Cool. Still odd that you are on M10 threads instead of M8. Get Outlook for Android<https://aka.ms/AAb9ysg> ________________________________ Sent: Sunday, February 5, 2023 6:51:06 PM To:

Thanks for the insight. Should have typed 250-1xx. Again thanks to all for the help!

250-101 is the AXA turning holder. 250-201 is the BXA turning holder, and so on. Get Outlook for Android<https://aka.ms/AAb9ysg> ________________________________ Sent: Sunday, February 5, 2023 5:50:43

Re: QCTP Height Adjustment Screw
Hey Guys, Thanks a lot for all the insight.? The holders are all marked 250-xxx, which are AXA.? The adjustment screw, based on the jam nuts I just bought, are M10-1.0,? No 45mm, M10-1.0 set screws

Re: QCTP Height Adjustment Screw
I used? one that a bud made? several years back , I wanted to see if I wanted to make one? but I spent more time tripping over my fingers trying to use it then its worth unless I was? doing small

Re: QCTP Height Adjustment Screw
That is a huge waste of time for just 20 or so screws to be trimmed. Just use Animal's jam nut approach. On the other hand, if you do hundreds of screws, or have nothing better to do, then sure. It

Re: QCTP Height Adjustment Screw
That works well when you need only a few screws modified, but if you need more than a few, you should look into making a "Lantern Chuck." I've got a couple projects coming up where I'll probably be

Re: QCTP Height Adjustment Screw
Good point . I have a bin in one of my tool boxes full of different size coupler nuts & jam nuts which I use for when I have to chuck up allen or longer screws/bolts for modifying . I just thread them

Re: Here's why most lathes FS are bench lathes
I wish the SSA would use the real world inflation percentage to calculate cost of living, and base it on a pair of machine floor leg price increases. 3 years ago they were going for about $300.00.

Re: QCTP Height Adjustment Screw
If you can only get plain Allen instead of dog point Allen (or any other head of your choice) I would turn a dog point on the ends. Regardless of how good the screw metal is, it can still burr over in

Re: QCTP Height Adjustment Screw
I just re-read your message. What you have sounds more like a BXA instead of the AXA size. With BXA you are on the verge of it being too big for your lathe. I think it was about a week ago one someone

Re: QCTP Height Adjustment Screw
I have SAE down I can tell what it is with just looking unless its smaller that? 4-40 . I still have a real hard time with metric . When I'm into metric things I keep my tap & die set on the bench .

Re: QCTP Height Adjustment Screw
Quick clarification: my AXA tool holder is a Chinese no name. Should make no difference, unless yours in a U.S. or European name brand and in that case all bets are off. I checked the threads with one

Re: QCTP Height Adjustment Screw
I just pulled an AXA tool holder and measured it. Both the height adjustment stud and the tool set screws are M8-1.25 The stud is 50mm or 2 inches in length The set screws are 20mm in length or 0.8"

Re: QCTP Height Adjustment Screw
"Is the hole on the non threaded one smaller than the stud from the other one ?" The non-threaded hole is larger than the threaded hole
By G K · #107163 ·
Re: QCTP Height Adjustment Screw
The stud probably is a 3/8 24 on a DOrian Or Alorias (sp) ,. All of the imports I have are metric , but I can't say what they are . Take the tool holders to your hardware store & see what threads fit

Hey Guys, Recently acquired a Phase 2 tool post for my SB9c.? I also acquired a couple tool holders that are missing the height adjustment screw.? One has a threaded hole for the adjustment stud,
