Hey Folks. I am looking for a steady rest for a 10L Heavy. Anybody got a spare you're looking to sell? I know that the 9 & 10K rests are basically the same (or exactly, IDK). But can anyone out there tell me if a steady rest from another SB lathe is the same as (or will fit on) the 10L heavy? Maybe I'm limiting my search too much and need to start looking for steady rests that will fit the 10L heavy AS WELL AS the XXXXX? Thanks, Greg

Re: V Belt

Hi Payson,

If it is the proper belt, Gates is a good brand and there should not be a problem.? If the old belt behaves differently but is the same size, the problem may be the stiffness of the new belt.? It has likely been folded in the same sleeve for quite a while and has taken a set.? I would try warming it up, perhaps by setting it in direct sunlight for a few hours and see if that softens it and makes a difference.

HTH,

Jack

Thanks,

Re: Reintroduction to South Bend Lathe Group

Good morning folks,

Yes, as I mentioned the pictures are small, and don't do the machine justice. Also, I can't add all the pictures of the tooling.

If anyone is really interested, they could send me an email and I will attach the pictures to it. AOL is a bit unfriendly sending big files, I usually have to send multiple pictures in more than one email.

I think I will be listing the 10K on Craigslist on Wednesday. I haven't listed there for a few years, so I'm sure there are changes.

Charley.??

??? ??? I's not setup in a user friendly mode . To me if someone puts something in " the market place " it should flag it somehow & send a message out like when someone uploads a pic or a file ?

Good morning,

Yes, it does, look under "Databases".

I could only assume that the moderator of this group didn't want to clutter up the message board with items for sale or wanted Items.

There are three pictures allowed in the Marketplace, and I may see if I can rotate them. Also, when I look at them they are small, but maybe when someone else looks at them they enlarge, any ideas?

If downloaded they could be enlarged.

Charley
