Good
afternoon folks,
I was on
the Yahoo South Bend group for many years, but I didn't
transition over to the?.
A while
back hopping that it might rekindle my interest in machining. I
rejoined the South Bend and several other groups once on Yahoo.
Unfortunately
it hasn't help me regain the "bug". I still machine something
when I need a part made around the house or garage, but I don't
want?
to make
another engine or complex project. I've made 3 Stuart's, 10V,
James Coombs, and Beam. Plus I got side tracked doing production
jobs with three turret lathes.?
At 67
years old and declining health, it maybe time to get some of the
remaining "big stuff" out of the
basement.
and no it's not a walk out. I sold my Bridgeport, Hardinge HCT,
Hardinge HLV, and one DSM-59, about five years ago. I still have
one old (1951) DSM-59, It's going soon!
I have a
nice South Bend 10K UMD (Daejung Korea, hard bed)?that I need
to sell with lots of tooling. It will be in the Marketplace, if
I can figure how to get it there. The 10K isn't as heavy as a
HLV,
but two
people can't carry it up steps in one piece. It has a NOS
turret, never used, that is included. Why? use a SB turret with
three Hardinge turret lathes, long story. Sorry 9 inch guys,
fits the bed,
but too low to line up to the center line.
?
Anyway, I
hate to join this group just to advertise, but I'd rather give
someone here a chance before I put it on Graiglist, or that
auction site. The old Yahoo group was?
good to
me and even if all of those folks are gone, the new folks here
I'm sure are just as nice.?I hope this thread does not
violate any guidelines, thank you.
Regards
Charley Holt.
