If you've been following the progress of the story thus far, you'll note that we ended chapter 12 with the meeting which took place on Boxer day. Chapter 13 will barely cover 3 days of time. There is a lot which we need to do during the Holiday break, and because of that we're compressing the time frame the chapters will cover for a while. What does that mean in terms of the size of the chapter? NOTHING. Every chapter is written in ms word using a 12 point Times New Roman font and every chapter is written such that there is at least 30 pages of content before adding author's notes and disclaimer. So whether the chapter covers a months story time, or a single day of story time, it's still 30 pages minimum. There will probably yet another chapter including more holiday break events before our intrepid heros and heroines return to Hogwarts. :) - Bob

Yeah I goofed, in my previous post I called it Boxer day when it should have been called boxing day. What can I say? British Holidays are something of a mystery to me. I seriously doubt they celebrate the fourth of July. And if they did, what would they call it? The Massive Mistake day? Or Maybe that Tea Tax really wasn't a smart idea day? Anyway until a few days ago when my wife informed me as to the purpose of Boxer... er boxing day, I thought it was some bizarre ritual where people exchanged underwear. JUST KIDDING!!! I was wondering what exactly is Boxing Day? I have heard it before, but honestly never thought to ask what exactly the holiday was I just know it was celebrated in the UK and not in North America or aleast not main stream NA. I mean it is in calendars and so forth. I am just wondering the importance and meaning of the day. Thanks Kelly

Ive just read Dumbledore?s army, and its a great fic :) The only thing is the prankwar. I think that is quite unfair for the twins, as they only know remus as a marauder, and not the new marauders so they dont know who they can prank, or not. Anyways..Im on to Spiritus Crystalus! Right up Bob and Alyx's alley - challenge! From harrypotterxtreme, Michael Dean issued this challenge. From having read DA and SC, I think that Bob and Alyx could do this challenge very well. My thoughts are that I would not like to see someone with an axe to grind do it. It would need someone who knew their subject. One problem is that if you remove all the nuclear weapons, the muggles will move on to something else - a la the Jesus Factor - germ/chemical weapons. When you consider the alternatives, I would rather deal with bombs and fall out. both Germ and chemical weapons have a "fallout" pattern and are a lot harder to deal with. Germ warfare in particular has the possibility to wipe out mankind - more so than nuclear fallout. Another problem is that the infra structure and knowledge for the nuclear side of things is so scattered that just going in and memory wiping people would not work. 1) the data is scattered all over the place in books, encyclopedias, films internet and libraries that you'd not find it all. 2) would not be able to find all the people that needed to be wiped. 3) Governments would know something has gone wrong and start looking for who did it. 4) Terrorist org's may be one of the first groups to come up with the knowlege. 5) States that are only held in check by WMD would see it as their chance to advance. A huge battered Muggle aircraft carrier being a reporter she asks what happened the longshoremen laugh & ask what cave she was living in. A news man tells her more or less world war three almost happened. Rita does some digging & what she finds would have scared a Death Eater to death she learns of the chemical weapons attack on Grozny, the destruction of Baltimore, the Russian attack on the carrier events that if they had went unchecked would have led to Nuclear war. It was made more frightening by the fact that the magical world didn't know it happened. She decides to let them know what almost happened. It's a nice crisp Feb. morning all of Hogwarts staff & student body are at breakfast. The usual morning mail & the Daily Prophet is delivered. On the front page in banner headlines reads NUCLEAR WAR NARROWLY EVOIDED!!!! under the headline is a picture of the battered aircraft carrier the caption below the photo reads (I'll use the name) U.S.S Thomas Jefferson, CVN-20. It goes into details probably get an interview with the captain & every one is shocked. When asked by the Purebloods what a nuclear war is the Muggleborns led by Granger give an explanation of what it is 'Mione probably has a Muggle history book in her bag with pictures of Hiroshima. She could have one of the professor's enlarge a few of pictures and pass them around. Then she drops the bomb about how this being the second time a war almost happened before then she goes on to tell about the Cuban Missle Crisis. The Challenge: write reactions to the news from the MoM who after getting a good look at London has nightmares of it's destruction on down to Harry who kicks himself for paying too much attention to the Magical World & not paying enough attention to World in general & also finding out that no matter what he does there will always be evil men in the world.

I am very curious where you got the idea for that from? Obviously there wont be Faeries in your story (as you said in your Authors Notes), but will we be hearing more about their effect on the wizarding society of old? Is there a tie in between them and the original Brotherhood of Druidic Knights? Dont get me wrong, I do like the idea of that explanation for what luna is and that she appears distracted because of the sheer strength of what she feels all the time. It's way cool. Another great chapter, as we are used by now. Now, on with the complaints. I think Hermione was a bit too forward. Then again, after what they have shared, especially with their Legilimency/Occlumency training, I expected the "see you naked" plot earlier. When will they actually do it? :D *gets mind out of gutter* Did you really have to install that peep hole? And how come Hermione didn't know? I think Lav and Parv have big mouths, and would have told her about it. Hey, turnabout is fair play, right? Why doesn't Harry install a peep hole to Ginny's room at Grimmauld place? I'm looking for a fic that starts in the furture and Harry is an outcast. Draco comes to find him for his help, as all magic seems to be disappearing. When he fixes the problem he is attacked, and sent to the past, his first year after he defeats voldie. He then uses his powers to fix things in the past for a better future. Dumbledore has been stealing from Harry and many others to take over the world with money investments. No Weasly, Hermione bashing. Snape can be evil. Dumbledore later becomes the dark lord. Why there are so few really good Harry/Azkaban stories out there? There must be hundreds of decent unfinished stories. But few that are finished and fewer still that are worth the read. And can someone explain why most of the angst stories have to involve slash? :\ - Bob
