Hi All: ? Has anyone else been having trouble with Fan Fiction Downloader recently? Lately, all of the stories that I have downloaded stop around the 20-22 chapter area and then just give the chapter headings until the end, no matter how long the story is. I have even gone so far as to uninstall FFD, redownload it and then reinstall it with the same result. Can anyone contact Raymond and let him know? ? Thanks, The Blind Dragon ? ? I just downloaded a 76 chapter story with no
problems. Mine is a portable download. If you haven't tried that, I'd suggest
it. Nothing is installed and all you have to do is run the shortcut that you put
on your desktop.
I hope this might work for you.

Which fic site are you trying to download from?? If , it could be the cloudflare/CAPTCHA issue.? Recently partway through some stories the CAPTCHA window pops up and you can only clear one page of the CAPTCHA test.
I just downloaded a 76 chapter story with no

it. Nothing is installed and all you have to do is run the shortcut that you put
on your desktop.

Here you go. Just download this, put it in your
documents and run the exe anytime you wanna download a fic. Hope this helps. You
can also save a shortcut to the exe on your desktop for ease of
use.

I think I have all the config stuff set in the
Fanfic downloader I just sent. Will download title, author, and the fic delay
should be set.

I haven't tried in about a month, but the last time I did, it would show the progress bar advancing to the last chapter, then it would hang. I let it run overnight, once, and it was still hung the next day, with nothing downloaded.
I run it on an old MacBook Pro, and verified that I had the latest version.

I'll double check, but I think even if you put the link for Chapter 30 in there, it'll download the whole story.

Actually I'm silly, no need to double check. It gets the whole story for sure. I grab chapters from my email and any link I put it grabs the entire thing.

I haven't been able to download stories for months.? My kindle isn't accepting anything that I try to send to it, which is super annoying if I want to predownload so I can read on vacation when I'm away from internet capability. Connie

It can download sets of chapters IF you change the start & end chapters in the relevant boxes.
To do that, you just do a 'Check' not the 'Check & Download', change the chapter numbers and then hit the 'Download' button.

Actually, every time I try to download less than a whole story using the FanFictionDownloader it freezes and closes on me. I have had some of the issues that have been discussed on this topic and I just open each story and double check if anything is missing before I start the next story downloading. In the format that I download into if it skips something it is a whole chapter or multiple whole chapters, but for some reason it won't skip the Chapter title so as a scroll it will read? Chapter x: whatever the chapter title is?
Chapter y: whatever the chapter title is part 2
Chapter z: whatever the chapter title is part 3
without any chapter text if it skipped anything.

I was able to get all of ‘Loose Cannon’ by taking it in 20 chapter bites a few weeks ago. 29 chapters was the max I could reliably get without running into Captcha. I also didn’t e realize at first that it will save over itself if you don’t change the file name.

I ran into that problem when I was using gmx instead of gmail.? It was working and then amazon "improved" things.? I had to go into my gmx account to approve each file via a link.? Amazon/Kindle wasn't trusting the domain/server or something.? Once I switched back to sending to Kindle from my gmail account it started working again.? If you have access to a different email?address you might want to try that with send to kindle.
I haven't been able to download stories for months.? My kindle isn't accepting anything that I try to send to it, which is super annoying if I want to predownload so I can read on vacation when I'm away from internet capability. Connie
