Re: Sad news
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýMy condolences. Having lost both my parents, I have some idea, but I don¡¯t know what I would do if I lost my wife. ? Mark ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Steve Wheeler
Sent: 28 November 2020 18:55 To: [email protected] Subject: [Snorkack] Sad news ? My girlfriend Marion died this morning. She hadn't wanted it generally known, but she was diagnosed with what what described as "a rare syndrome based on an underlying dementia." ? The specific condition is known as Posterior Cortical Atrophy, and a reasonable shorthand definition is "Alzheimer's that starts by affecting the visual cortex." In the three years since her diagnosis, she had lost much of her mental and physical capabilities. Although she could still converse, she had trouble finding the correct words, and physically, she was effectively?blind (her?eyes were still good, but her?brain couldn't interpret the incoming data), and could no longer take care of herself. ? Last night, she got part of her dinner caught in her throat. I tried the Heimlich maneuver without success and called 911. We have a fire station a few blocks away, so the EMTs were there almost immediately. They were also unsuccessful with unblocking her airway. ? Marion suffered a cardiac arrest on the way to the hospital, but they were able to restart her heart and stabilize her once she was in the ER. Around 1 am, they called me to come to the hospital because her blood pressure had dropped significantly, and they felt she didn't have long. Her heart stopped again just before 3 am, and she did not respond to CPR. ? New Years would have marked 25 years that we'd been together. I'm going to miss her so much. ? Steve Wheeler |

Interesting thought. Never considered it that way, but you make a point that him giving his bones without thinking about it could constitute "...unknowingly given"

While reading a story, couldn't help wondering if Peter unintentionally claimed to be Moldy's father
I was reading "Harry Potter and the Rune Stone Path" and when got to the section where Wormtail was going through the ritual to bring Moldywart back a wierd thought occurred to me because of the fact that Wormtail gave him both flesh and bone.
The first part of the ritual: "Bone of the father unknowingly given, you will renew your son!" and I think Peter forgot he was giving him some of his bone when he sliced off his entire hand and let it drop in the big cauldron so he technically unknowingly gave him some of his bone. The second line: "Flesh of the servant willingly given you will revive your master" mean all Wormtail really had to do was slice off a piece of skin, not an entire body part. After I read it, I couldn't help wondering if Wormtail made himself unknowingly a father for Moldy and that might've been at least partly responsible for giving Moldy such a weird looking body. It also may have been something that helped keep Wormtail alive, because if Moldy killed him, then he was telling the magic that created his new body he was rejecting the bone of his father, even if the bone that was added was a mistake and the person who gave it was technically was a servant/minion. Re: LFS- amoral/evil Harry - FOUND!
That's exactly why I went overboard on the notes :)
Personally, I put the darkness and vengeance brutality on par with RobSt's In this World and the Next, so I personally don't think it's that bad. Especially with the wacky humor in it. But I know others' scales are different, so I gave the notes as warnings. I've clicked into too many fics that had a G-rated summary which turned into gore-fests that should have been rated NC-99 or XXXXX |
Re: LFS- amoral/evil Harry - FOUND!
FOUND IT! In my own defense, I have amassed a saved collection of +3,800 fanfics which sometimes makes searching through the text of mobi/epub files to be nearly impossible at times. Everyone screwed Harry over in the 'Potter Conspiracy'. Snape sent him a letter after Snape's death which detailed all, and Harry went back to replace his 11 year old self so that he can get revenge and change the future to something he likes, with Luna as his love/dark lady. Susan and Hannah are together romantically, Luna becomes minister, and Harry becomes chief of Wizengamot. |

Re: LFS- amoral/evil Harry
No, it's not Shatter or Guy Fawkes. This is an older one, I think, and definitely completed. Think Harry went back in time somehow, when he discovered who all was part of the conspiracy, and is getting revenge. It was definitely a werewolf rampage, and I think Pansy may have been the one killed? The rest of the teachers kill werewolf!Lupin and stop him from doing more damage
