A Cultural Resources Project Director position is available with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML) to support Joint Region Marianas (JRM) on the Island of Guam. This position shall provide on-site technical support and assistance to the JRM Cultural Resources Manager (CRM) regarding activities related to the Programmatic Agreement between the Commander, Joint Region Marianas and the Guam State Historic Preservation Officer, Regarding Military Training and Testing on and within the Surrounding Waters of the Island of Guam, including research and assessment of potential impacts to cultural resources by military training and testing within the JRM Area of Responsibility (AOR). This is a full-time appointment primarily located on Guam, but the employee may be deployable to other areas within the JRM AOR, which includes nearby islands in the US Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). Oversight and management of the Cultural Resources Program support on military lands within JRM AOR is the primary duty for this position. Guam has a substantial military presence consisting of three major military installations – Naval Base Guam, Andersen Air Force Base, and Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz. Each year major military training exercises are conducted within the JRM AOR where large quantities of military equipment and other materials are transported into Guam and the CNMI.

The Cultural Resources Project Director will provide leadership and oversight of up to five (5) full-time CEMML staff, including archaeologists, GIS specialists, and technicians. Working closely with the JRM Cooperative Agreement Technical Representative (CATR), the Cultural Resources Project Director will direct and coordinate execution of tasks in accordance with the terms of the Cooperative Agreement between CEMML and JRM Cultural Resources Group.

This position includes a combination of office and field activities, including field and subject matter expertise and methodologies, team supervision and training, reporting and documentation, communication and coordination with CEMML team and DoD sponsor, fieldwork supervision, consultation and coordination with SHPO, and project planning and project schedule and timelines.

This position will be responsible for oversight and management of CEMML staff, project budget and expenditures, coordinating with CEMML Principal Investigator and JRM CATR to develop project goals, objectives, and timelines, as well as generating and reviewing deliverables in compliance with the Cooperative Agreement Scope of Work and professional standards.

Responsibilities also include execution and oversight of all cultural resources support tasks, including but not limited to, documenting, monitoring, and protecting cultural resources; preparing information and analysis in compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and other historic preservation and environmental laws; assessing state of cultural resource collections; participating in historical research efforts; and preparing and distributing material and assisting with consultation efforts. In planning and execution of all tasks, the Cultural Resources Project Director will work closely, and in collaboration with, the JRM CATR.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·?????? B.S./B.A. degree in anthropology, archaeology, or related field+ 5 years related experience, or Master’s degree + 2 years of related experience.

·?????? Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the principles and theories of cultural resources management. Experience should include a combination of professional knowledge and experience working with applicable federal (e.g. Section 106 and 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act) and state regulations.

Project Description and Schedule

UES is hiring field technicians to help conduct a Phase II archaeological survey in Walton County, FL. The Phase II work will consist of digging additional shovel tests and 1x1-meter test units to delineate and evaluate sites discovered during the Phase I. EDR is seeking experienced, team-oriented?Field Archaeologists?with demonstrated expertise to provide support to the EDR Cultural Resources practice area by assisting with archaeological fieldwork, laboratory analysis and/or office work. Reports to the Principal for Cultural Resources via the Archaeology Services Leader and Field Supervisors. This role would be an hourly position (March through December, weather dependent) based in the Northeastern United States.

Field Archaeologists provide support for field investigations, and in some instances, associated laboratory and/or office work. EDR’s Field Archaeologists include seasonal and temporary employees (i.e., employed on a per project basis) and report to the Principal for Cultural Resources via the Archaeology Services Leader and Field Supervisors.

Schedule and Compensation

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8-hour days (40 hours weekly, off Saturday and Sunday; our typical schedule may need to be adjusted to meet specific project demands, although that is unusual).

About The Job?
We are seeking qualified, experienced Cultural Resource Monitors for a high-profile transportation construction project in California and Nevada.

A Cultural Resource Monitor must possess sufficient understanding of cultural resource materials (historic and prehistoric) to enable identification during construction, and sufficient experience working alongside construction crews, heavy machinery, and Tribal partners. Monitors will interact with hand-held mobile device software such as ESRI Field Maps and Survey 123 for daily reporting. Monitors will be required to communicate with construction teams, lead monitors, principal investigators, and Tribal partners each day.

Duties and Responsibilities (may include some or all of the below):???

·??? Effective communication with construction personnel and lead monitors to ensure punctuality, on-site safety, and cultural resource protection

Minimum Requirements?

·??? Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology or Anthropology or substantial experience performing similar duties.

·??? Must possess a valid driver’s license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment

·??? Willingness to travel to a project location for several consecutive days

The PD position is responsible for planning and implementing survey, testing, monitoring, and data recovery plans. The PD coordinates—through the appropriate channels—all tasks associated with fieldwork, analysis, and reporting. The responsibilities of the PD typically involve traveling and work in both the field and office. The PD is responsible for report writing and having a solid understanding of the basics of cultural resource management.

For small- and medium-sized projects, the PD may assume additional tasks typically assigned to a Principal Investigator (PI), although you will work under the mentorships of the PI for that project.? For larger projects, the PD will work in tandem with experience project directors and/or the PI and to ensure that all the tasks associated with project implementation are accomplished.? We will provide the training you will need to meet your deadlines, remain on budget, and meet SRI’s standard of care.?

A PD will typically work on multiple projects simultaneously so the ability to multitask is critical.? The Seminole Tribe of Florida Tribal Historic Preservation Office is hiring for 1 permanent full time Archaeological Technician position. The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing systematic investigations of possible archeological sites, including excavation, field data collection, and data recording. Work also includes extensive use of GPS software to record spatial data. The incumbent in this position performs work in the archeological laboratory such as cleaning, counting and cataloging artifacts. The incumbent is required to report to any one of the seven (7) reservations depending on daily scheduled project work. Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archeology, History or related field is required. A minimum of an archaeological field school is required. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License (or have the ability to obtain one prior to hire) and be able to operate Tribal vehicles, which include 4-wheel drive trucks and all-terrain vehicles. Must be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Must have the ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. No per diem or lodging is provided.

Fieldwork will occur on any of the reservations or trust lands, though most will be located near the Big Cypress Reservation (closest town is Clewiston) or the Brighton Reservation (closest town is Okeechobee).

The hourly range for the position is $18.75-23.50. In addition, a monthly fuel stipend of $600 is available for personnel living at least 40 miles from the Big Cypress Reservation.

About this Position

Historical Research Associates, Inc. (HRA) is seeking to increase our qualified pool of Archaeological Technicians for work in our Portland, Eugene, Missoula, and Spokane offices. Successful candidates must either currently reside in or be planning to relocate to states in which we primarily operate (Oregon, Washington, Montana, and Idaho). Individuals interested in working for HRA for seasonal employment will be selected only from this pool.

?

Pay is $20.50–36.00 per hour, based on location, education, experience, and special skills. HRA reviews wages on an ongoing basis based on technician demonstrated skills and abilities.

The Archaeological Technician – Seasonal performs archaeological fieldwork, lab work, or related office work under the direction and supervision of an HRA staff archaeologist.

?

Preferred applicants approved for the pool must have (at minimum) a Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology or Anthropology and an archaeological field school. Extensive field experience will also be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree; enrolled students nearing graduation will also be considered. The field school should preferably be university-based and completed for academic credit and must entail at least 4+ weeks of intensive, hands-on education in archaeological excavation techniques resulting in learned skills such as digging and screening, artifact and feature identification, soil recordation, mapping, and documentation, etc. Demonstrated equivalent volunteer or professional experience will also be considered in lieu of a formal field school. Preferred applicants will also have professional experience working in the field, conducting analysis of research data, and contributing to research reports.

Required skills include the ability to effectively conduct research activities, conduct fieldwork using appropriate field techniques, develop and maintain positive relationships, balance work schedules and demands, provide and receive feedback, seek to resolve conflict through communication and collaboration, and use effective verbal and written communication to listen and communicate effectively.

?

Applicants must be proficient in the use of computer programs and database systems and have familiarity with the operations and use of cameras, GPS, and GIS equipment and software. Candidates should assume that most of their working hours will be spent in the field.

?

Positions are seasonal, and work is on-call, as needed. Acceptance into the qualified applicant pool is not a guarantee of a job offer or a guarantee of hours, but only Technicians in the pool will be offered work with HRA.

Immediate Long Term Archeological Field Technicians Needed – Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas

Integrated Environmental Solutions, LLC (IES) is seeking to immediately hire multiple archeological field technicians to assist with projects within Arkansas, ?Oklahoma, and Texas.?IES is in the process of surveying approximately 4,000 acres for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District and will be starting survey for a major fiber optic line project in the coming weeks. We also have ongoing Phase III excavation at a prehistoric habitation site and cemetery. We have sufficient work underway and planned to keep applicants busy continuously for the next 6 to 8 months, which could be extended or lead to permanent positions.?Applicants with Phase III experience will be given priority ranking to assist with the Phase III project. ?

Compensation

  • Initial pay will be $19.50 to $22/hr based on experience.
  • Per diem will be based on GSA rate for project location.
  • Overtime beyond 40hrs per week is expected and will be paid at time and half
  • Single occupancy lodging will be provided
  • Typical Schedule –10 days rotations and standard Monday through Friday schedules will be required.
  • Maximum 8 to 10hr days anticipated
  • 401k available after 6 months of employment.

Qualifications:

·???????? Hold a bachelor’s degree in anthropology, archeology, or a closely related field

·???????? Have a minimum of 12 months field experience or have completed an accredited archeology field school required

·???????? Experience conducting archeological monitoring and/or survey

·???????? Experience recording sites, completing field notes and paperwork, and familiarity with GPS and GIS technology

·???????? Must be able to mobilize quickly

·???????? Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Physical Demands:

Physical requirements for project will included:

·???????? Regularly required to use hands, walk, sit, talk, and listen, stand; climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

·???????? Survey work will require hiking long distances daily over rugged terrain while shovel testing

·???????? Work is less than favorable environmental conditions

·???????? The employee must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds.

The Archaeology Seasonal Field Technician performs archaeological fieldwork, lab work, or GIS work under the direction and supervision of a Gray & Pape Project Manager/Principal Investigator. Applicants approved for the pool must have (at a minimum):
