Archaeology Crew Lead- Stanislaus National Forest
Description The Great Basin??Institute, in cooperation with the USFS, is recruiting two (2) Archaeology Crew Leads to complete Section 106 cultural resource surveys, site recording, and monitoring for various projects within the Stanislaus National Forest. These projects all serve the Cultural Resources program’s greater mission of helping the USFS in their critical goal of improving forest resilience in the face of worsening climate conditions and increased wildfire threats. The work that you will do directly protects sensitive cultural sites, helping ensure the stories they tell are preserved for generations to come.
? Location:? The four counties within the Forest’s immediate sphere of influence are Alpine, Calaveras, Mariposa and Tuolumne. These counties are primarily rural in nature, and are characterized by rolling foothill and/or steep mountainous terrain, very low population density, and an attractive and unspoiled natural environment. The latter three are in the heart of California’s historic “Mother Lode,” and contain many historically significant Gold Rush era towns, and both historic and prehistoric heritage sites. ? Collectively, all four counties have an abundance of outdoor recreational sites, including numerous rivers, lakes and reservoirs, two state parks (Calaveras Big Trees and Columbia State Parks), one national park (Yosemite National Park), several alpine and nordic ski areas, and portions of several national forests, including the Stanislaus, El Dorado, Toiyabe, and Sierra National Forests.

Senior Principal Investigator-Archaeology
Espinoza Consulting Services (ECS) is accepting resumes for a Senior Principal Investigator-Archaeology. The ideal candidate will have a research focus and extensive consulting experience in the Southwest, Great Basin, and/or Southern California.
A remote work location is acceptable, but the candidate selected for this position must reside in the western states. Responsibilities will include oversight and technical execution of projects, budget and project management, business development, and engaging
with clients and agencies. This position is reserved for highly qualified applicants who are interested in a challenging and varied work environment. This position will include some travel and fieldwork. Compensation is negotiable and will be commensurate
with capabilities and experience. This is a full-time salaried position with health and retirement benefits.
Minimum Requirements:
· MA or PhD in anthropology or archaeology with more than 12 years of high-level responsibility experience in Cultural Resource Management in the Western United States including the Southwest, Great Basin, and/or Southern California.
· Must possess a clear understanding of NHPA, NAGPRA, and NEPA and their respective implementing regulations.
· Must have extensive experience with projects undertaken for compliance review under Section 106 of the NHPA, NEPA, and other relevant local, state, and federal regulations, including experience with Native American consultation.
· Excellent technical writing skills. The applicant must submit at least three writing samples.
· Proven leadership and organizational skills, a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work as part of a team.
· Clean driver’s license. Employment is also subject to drug and alcohol testing (including cannabis). Background check may be necessary on certain projects.
Preferred qualifications:
· An extensive work history as a Project Archaeologist or Field Director involving field crew management.
· Must be permitted or able to successfully acquire BLM State Archaeological Permits as a Principal Investigator for archaeological investigations in various western states.

Salary ranges from $46k-56k/year. Pay varies for part time project-based work depending on location and contract. Position Overview
International Archaeology, LLC is seeking a highly qualified Senior Archaeologist (Archaeological Project Director) in Guam who will work under the supervision of the Project Manager and Principal Investigator. The Senior Archaeologist (Archaeological Project Director) will prepare and implement research designs, make strategic and professional decisions in the field, and demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills through technical reports and publications. On Call - Temporary Archaeological Field Technicians - Ohio - Lawhon & Associates
开云体育Lawhon & Associates, Inc. (L&A) is seeking on-call field technicians for projects located throughout Ohio. Any required overtime will be paid at time and a half. Compensation is $20.00 per hour. L&A provides per diem and single occupancy lodging (5 days per week) throughout the duration of out-of-town projects. Travel to and from the selected hotel to the site will be provided each day. Opportunities are available throughout 2025. ? Qualifications Minimum requirements include an Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, or a related field. The ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, sufficient physical endurance to conduct standard archaeological excavation techniques, attention to detail, work reliability, and the ability to work well with others are essential to the position. Our Nevada crews can be found working throughout the West on various projects including archaeological surveys, monitoring, and excavations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in local and regional cultural history, archaeology, and local, state, and federal statutes governing cultural resource investigations, be permittable by state and federal agencies, and have previous experience leading and supervising field crews. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading teams in support of archaeological compliance projects across Nevada, California, and other neighboring states. For out-of-town work that includes overnight, or longer duration stays, per diem and single-occupancy hotel rooms are provided at the 2025 GSA rate. For remote projects where lodging is not available, additional camping per diem will be provided. This position will be based out of WestLand's?Reno, NV?office.
