Connection to node on same Network failed

Hello all,

I have three nodes and all have port forwarding enabled and They have no problem with an external connection.

But when I try to connect to one another on my home network I get connection failed and the following message in the log file:? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Dave/AD4UU

Re: Updated SimpleUSB instructions #SA818-prog

Hi Mark,

I have uploaded the document to the File section of this group.

Updated SimpleUSB instructions #SA818-prog

I purchased a PiZero Hat that included updated instructions for setting up the audio with simpleusb. I have misplaced those instructions. Is that document available or can the new settings be given here? Unless I missed it, I could not find an update instruction in Files for this group.

Re: Channel changing script

I put his code in a file for you.

Re: Channel changing script

channel.sh is the script that I pasted in the email.

?

You would need to create it and modify it with your desired channels and settings.

Michael;

I'm not a programmer but I can get through some things. I'm missing something with your instructions. 1. I cannot find "channel.sh" -- channel1 or --channel2 or --channel3 in /etc/asterisk/local nor can I find channel.sh? 2. What is the script called I have to make and put in /usr/bin/ ?? 3. Nothing in the script seems to point back to channel.sh
I'm lost here.

Re: SHARI Pi3U with RPI 3a+ Issues

Oops. Here¡¯s the pictures of what error I was getting. The other picture is with your lsusb command. I also tried using the preset frequency you provided and it did nothing¡

Re: SHARI Pi3U with RPI 3a+ Issues

Thank you to Steve for calling me on the phone and troubleshooting the device with me. It turns out my soldering was to blame. After doing a little cleanup and making sure that the solder was fully into the connectors everything seems to work great now.

Re: SHARI Pi3U with RPI 3a+ Issues

Only one USB connection is required.? Both are wired to provide 5V.? One USB connection is used to program the SA818 (wired to the CH340 USB to serial converter) using SA818-prog..? The other is wired to the CM108B audio IC and works wit Allstar.

Re: SHARI Pi3U with RPI 3a+ Issues

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

both usb connections need to be made for it to work.

Hello,

I soldered together my SHARI tonight and when I went to program the SA818 I get the error shown in the attached picture. I¡¯m not sure where to go from here. This happens no matter what usb connection to the SHARI I use (I tried both since I¡¯m not sure which one is which). Has anyone experienced something similar and if so do you have any suggestions how to move forward getting it to work? Thanks!

Hi Lyle,
?
There is no picture attached. Please send it again.? Also please connect to the USB port closest to the center and type lsusb<enter> at the Bash shell (Item 9 of the Admin Menu).? Do you see the CH340 listed in the output?
?
Does Allstar work correctly when your Pi3A+ is connected to the other USB port?? (The SA818 is pre-programmed to 446.100 MHz with 110.9 PL.)

Re: Channel changing script

Any progress with seeing if the other solution works, wr2uhf? (Can you add your name to this group so we can see what it is rather than having to go to QRZ to find it? It's easy to do. Thanks.)

Re: Shari Pixx No serial communication with sa818

Sorry to everyone for the late reply. Problem resolved. The Shari USB connectors were not seated well in the RPi USB ports. I powered down the node, reseated the connectors, rebooted and everything was fine. I should have thought of that...duhhh.

The COS LED will not light until you modify two lines in the rpt.conf file (/etc/asterisk/rpt.conf) as described in the setup procedure.

There should have been a document titled "Suggested Change in SHARI Setup" included with the unit.? Your simpleusb-tune-menu settings should be the same as those in the document.? The SHARI SA818 radio module was preprogrammed at final test to work? with the suggested settings.

Shari not recieving #Allstar_Setup

I am setting up a node and the shari sends out the morse code ID, ip address, and time, but whenever I keyup? the shari does not, the yellow light doesn't light and in item 2 of the simpleusb-tune-menu when keyed up and spoken into the radio, the bar doesn't move. In simpleusb-tune-menu item v the cos input is keyed whether a radio is keyed up or not9the shari is not transmitting though with the exception of time,id, and ip address). This seemed to be a common problem and I made sure all the settings in simpleusb-tune-menu were correct. Rxboost is off. When I select p in the simpleusb-tune-menu all the settings seem correct. Shari is not in full duplex mode either. Any idea on what might be wrong? Note: I am setting up KD2ZGC's shari not my own

Re: Channel changing script

SA818-prog has a command-line interface that is not interactive (unattended). It's called?818cli-prog in /user/local/sbin but you should be cautioned that if an error is sent it might be trouble. It is an interesting idea though. I could easily imagine a script that might look like:

shari-prog 446.0500 446.0500 754N 6 754N
which would then send
818cli-prog -d /dev/ttyUSB0 -m 0 -g 446.0500,446.0500,754N,6,754N -v 4 -f 0,0,0

or if you wished "memories" perhaps
shari-prog 1
which would then send
818cli-prog -d /dev/ttyUSB0 -m 0 -g 446.0500,446.0500,754N,6,754N -v 4 -f 0,0,0
producing 446.0500 DCS 754N
(memory 1)

or

shari-prog 2
which would then send
818cli-prog -d /dev/ttyUSB0 -m 0 -g 446.0575,446.0575,754N,6,754N -v 4 -f 0,0,0
producing 446.0575 DCS 754N
(memory 2)

I'll try to whip this up and see if it works
