AOTW: LIFE IS GREAT AFTER ALL !
I didn't enjoy the eighties musically, it seemed kinda dead really. My favourite highlights came from people like Rory Gallagher, Guns and Roses, Metallica and Iron Maiden, at least these guys seemed to be trying !!
When I read that Neil was releasing an album with CH I eagerly anticipated RNS 2 only to be disappointed (yet again). I loved Mideast Vacation and Prisoners but that was it and I can honestly say that I never really listened to the album objectively. Then came TNFY and Freedom so I just ignored Life and that was it !!! filed away under albums never to be heard again.
Then I started trading and got the ROG Comp followed by Cow Palace and now I can't stop playing Life, Its brilliant !!! how could I not have noticed. And when I look back I just cannot understand why I didn't like it. It rocks, it wails, it cries, I love it.
I'm off to play it right now....................................

I know that some don't like these lists, but I like to read what other people's tastes are. Some of the lists are quite similar to my own, and some are very different. Also, some of the explanations bring new insights into the albums that I haven't thought of before. Here's the Neil albums that I listen to the most often:
Landing on Water Sleeps With Angels Reactor Comes A Time Neil Young
Left For Dead

Neil Young CD Covers status 03-21-02
Hi everyone,
A minor update today. The Farm Aid VCD artwork is online. Look for the title Farm Aid 2000/2001 VCD or the dates 09-17-00 and 09-29-01.
Over 10000 page views in less then three months.
And now ..... Neilcovers has a partner in Waitscovers where you can find artwork for Tom Waits bootlegs.
Enjoy, Paul

Re: "Live Versions" Albums (cd's)
--- Shawn McCorkle <newcomer@...> wrote: We know that Neil has not performed all of his songs live. But......damn near! Shawn, great idea. I'm wondering what you're going to do about the songs that have never been played live. Just leave them out? Use Rustie tributes? For example, here is the track listing for LOW: Weight Of The World Violent Side Hippie Dream Bad News Beat Touch The Night People On The Street Hard Luck Stories I Got A Problem Pressure Drifter As far as I know, four of those 10 songs have never been performed live; Weight Of The World, People On The Street, Pressure, and Drifter. It's going to be an awfully short "album". Mike Expecting To Fly __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Movies - coverage of the 74th Academy Awards

Re: Changing Highways Tribute Submissions
Can anyone help with the address for trib submissions? ..BUT TO WHERE????? Call me paranoid, but it doesn't seem like a good idea to post personal addresses to global mailing lists like Rusted-Guitars or the RustList. So, I repeat: WHEN YOUR CONTRIBUTION IS READY TO MAIL, E:MAIL ME AT terminus00000000@... AND I'LL GIVE FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS. Sorry to yell, but I didn't want anyone to miss it..... While listening to the sports talk radio station a minute ago, Sporting News Radio (simulcast across the country), as they came back from a commercial, they were playing "Motorcycle Mama." The reason - because baseball player Jeff Kent supposedly was injured while riding his motorcycle - which is forbidden according to his contract. Kent denies hurting himself this way, so the story has been in the news lately.
Then, as the two hosts, Chet Coppock and Mike Mulligan, began speaking after the break, they were saying they should get that song off the radio and play another appropriate Neil Young song about Kent State. (Kent State is in the "Sweet 16" of the NCAA hoops tournament tonight). On demand, in about two seconds, they played about 30 seconds of "Ohio" and the two co-hosts were singing the tune word-for-word out loud!!
Then, Mike Mulligan said he was watching some news program where they were interviewing people who were at the Kent State tragedy and he said he heard one of the people say that the song "Ohio" was heard on the radio about eight days after May 4, 1970 -- to that person's amazement. After this banter, the producer of the radio show jumped on the air and said "Ohio" knocked "Teach Your Children" out of the #1 spot after its release.
This was hysterical. All hell broke loose for about two minutes. Quite the flurry of Neil on sports radio!! It was all-Neil radio. It certainly perked me up out of my office chair.
