I'll be seeing Lucinda a little later this month in Mesa, AZ. Mike Campbell's band opens. Looking forward to that one. I hope you enjoy your upcoming shows. I miss you and Ron. Every once in a while I get to see your happy faces on one of Neil's zoom calls.

Re: Neil Young Archives Vol.III download

I¡¯m a long-time lurker, but hopefully my experience will be instructive in some small way:
?
I¡¯m on a deadline and just spent half a day that I didn¡¯t have to spend wrestling with the FLAC high resolution downloads.
Thanks to the messages on the list, I didn¡¯t try the download code until after I got the all clear email from NYA.
Once entered, and after refreshing to be able to download, I chose the option to download all of the files. This took about a half hour, but I didn¡¯t have to be at the computer while the huge zip file was downloading. Finally it said that it was complete, 222/222 files.
?
BUT
?
When I unzipped the file and moved them to VLC to play them, I noticed that there were only 124 files.?
?
So . . . . I downloaded all AGAIN.
?
After unzipping the second huge file, I merged the folders with the results of the first download, which filled in many of the gaps. But there seemed to still be 11 missing files.
Thankfully when I view the files on VLC, it shows track numbers. . . . .
?
SO. . . . I identified the missing track numbers, and viewing the download page was able to figure out which tracks were missing by finding the tracks before and after the missing numbers. ?
I individually downloaded those tracks.
You¡¯d think I¡¯d be done after all of this ridiculous work, but NO. ?When playing the tracks, I noticed several tracks that wouldn¡¯t play because of errors.
?
SO . . . . . I downloaded all a THIRD time. ?After doing so, I went through all 222 tracks on VLC to find the ones that didn¡¯t play. And thankfully they were all in the new download. I checked on VLC to make sure they¡¯d all play, which all but one did. Then I replaced the files in my download folder.
Then I downloaded the one file that still had an error, and thankfully this time it played.
?
I now have 222 high res FLAC files, but no thanks to the engineers who put this download interface together.
Perhaps if I waited a week until there wasn¡¯t so much traffic on the site, this would have been a smoother process. . . . But that doesn¡¯t excuse 1) the site saying my download was complete when it wasn¡¯t, and 2) the site not being able to recognize corrupt downloads.
?
Oh, one other thing: ?the unzipped files are in folders, but they don¡¯t correspond to the CDs in the box set, but instead to Neil's various bands. Maybe that would be fine, except many files are in the ¡°Neil Young¡± folder that belong elsewhere. Thankfully the track numbers are in the metadata (no disc numbers, at least not on VLC).
?
Now . . . . back to work. ?. . . and waiting for the box to arrive.
?

Code worked, went to download page and nothing.?? Then after a few minutes it showed I could buy individual tracks to download.?? Hit the box for Vol. III and a few more minutes and the download button appeared.? Hit start after a few more minutes and it is downloading now.

I too found the process very frustrating, however.? No GA tickets seemingly available at on sale time (10AM). Just Premium and Platinum seats for cough-up-the-bucks prices!? Ugh.? And no code was needed for those tix.? But no NYA presale seemed to be selectable.? Then once the NYA site and codes were available (at about 10:10 they were available!), if you clicked the buy tickets button on NYA, it brought up a link just for the NYA presale and we could post our unique code in and see GA tix available!? Price still has big fees even with Neil nowadays.? Their site said $159.99 - $299.99 was the range.? One GA ticket ends up being $190.90 per ticket.? It is better than it could be but I know many diehard fans can¡¯t afford that kind of price.? And if someone is trying to plan, telling them $160 and charging $190 is not cool.? I am counting my blessings.

Good luck to all trying to see the shows!? Hope it works out for you all!
