I didn¡¯t know who Neil really was when this song came out, I began to learn about Neil in 1981, but that is another story.
Not sure when I first heard this song, but I¡¯ve always liked it. To me it sounds like a Beatles song that would have Ringo singing lead, it is just fun.
I played it for my wife this morning and her comment was, ¡®That¡¯s Neil? Sounds so happy!¡¯
I agree.
Note the acoustic parts at the end of the chorus were borrowed for Harvest Moon many years later.
1980 I was 16 and learning to love life, making a bit of money and doing things I wanted to do, like riding the bus and trains around the San Francisco peninsula for fun, just enjoying the sights.
Spent the summer in Idaho and loved it. We bought a farm and moved here 8 years later.
