I wrote the image using Balena Etcher (on OSX) to a 32g sandisk.? That didn't boot.
I then wrote the image using dd on linux, to a *different* 32g sandisk.? That also didn't boot.

They symptom:

When I power the Pi4 (4g, btw) up, I see the row of raspberries,? then the screen goes blank and nothing else.? No boot messages, no linux device probing, no kernel messages, no panic, etc.

I created the image on a Raspberry Pi 4. I know it works there. Then I took the exact file I uploaded and wrote it to a SD card and successfully booted on a Raspberry Pi 2 B.

How large is the image you downloaded (exact bytes please)? What software did you use to flash the image to your micro SD card? What do you observe when this fails to boot?

There are now two reports of failing to start on a Pi 4. I will investigate further.
