RACAL Handsets
Hi Guys, Are there two different RACAL handset pinouts? I have three RACAL handsets two of them dont work on a PRM4021 (only listen no key or TX voice) The two that dont work are PN: 5965-99-901-4616

A replacement 2.4 metre whip antenna is available from Comrod in Norway. This is nearly identical to the old Racal/Chelton/Cobham antenna. The Comrod antenna is recommended by Thales as a replacement

I too have a PRM4021 and have used it with external loading coils noted in another email.A Ham Stick for example is as effective as the standard long whip and is much easier to carry and move

There are a number of workable adjustable loading coils available. Manufacturers fitted them to specific radios such as the PRC 74 among others.One should not forget adapting High Gain specific band

Hi Mike, No, there is no loading coil at the base of the HF whip. Its a straight through connected sectional whip with a semi-flexible "gooseneck" at the base to allow some angular adjustment.
