Re: MyHeritage Ancient Origins reports
Gary. I am trying to get to grips with the information it contains. Seems quite interesting. It gives the reference ID for the ancient DNA samples it is using. I was able to cross check these with

Re: MyHeritage Ancient Origins reports
I asked for the report yesterday and got it today. In the Iron Age time I am mostly iron Age Briton which I guess is no surprise. The minor populations(less than 1 %) are interesting but probably not

Re: Phylogeography document update - R-Z381/R-Z301 minor clades
Hi all,
?
Roy: Yes, it would be helpful to look at parallel expansions of haplogroups. I am trying to do this within R-U106. However, it's difficult to do this in general because of the difficulty

Re: Phylogeography document update - R-Z381/R-Z301 minor clades
Hi Iain,
With reference to the relatively late surge of DF98, it may be helpful to

haplogroups, not necessarily under U106.

Hi Martin,
?
We do think that the House of Bourbon (from which Louis XVI comes) is part of R-Z156. Specifically, we think he comes from the R-DF98 "Kings' Cluster", since the Bourbons

Re: 23andMe ancestry test sale
23andMe has a public set of Discovery tools, not to be confused with FTDNA's Discover tools.
At present, the focus is on surnames, Y haplogroups and mtDNA haplogroups.

Re: English Y derivations
I have found that the best way to narrow down ancestral possibilities is to latch onto what you believe is your most likely prospect. Then in due time you will be proven how wrong you were.
