It's 5.5 mm O/D, 1.5 mm I/D, Centre positive. If possible get the type with internal springs - they make better contact. See attached.

CCD not powering up...or it does
Hello All, I have a remote observatory and currently I can not power on the CCD, but sometimes I can. As a software programmer, things for me are always 0 or 1 so I really don't know what could be causing the CCD powering on from time to time without any repeatable?pattern or sequence.... Thanks a lot Nicola Sky Monsters - Skype: betelgeuse368 |

Just to confirm David's reply, I dug out my old QSI530WS and installed the latest QSI drivers from the QSI support site, 2020.07.30, on a clean copy of Windows 10 Pro with a clean install of ASCOM platform 6.6SP1 and ran ASCOM ConformU tests on the camera and filter wheel in 64bit mode, all tests passed ok. Then I installed a clean copy of NINA x64 v2.1 and was able to connect to both camera and filter wheel (after first clicking the "cog" symbol in NINA to set up the camera and filter wheel options and name the filters). As David mentions, as long as you make sure to uninstall the old QSI drivers first, and make sure you are on the latest ASCOM platform then you should be ok. HTH William. |
Re: NINA+QSI 532 camera and on camera filter wheel
David,
that seems to have done it.? I have all connections, mount, focuser, QSI and QSI filter wheel connecting up and correct filters showing and changeable.? I also managed to get these all working under Astroart 8
I found that I could not? get the camera and filter working together and that I was showing 2 ASCOM QSI camera connections. I turned of NINA and rebooted the PC and then all worked.? 2 cameras showing still.? Camera and filter worked under ASCOM camera 2
I am very grateful to both David and William this means a great deal to me.
Eric

I'm using QSIinstaller-2020.07.30. A copy of mine is here:
I suggest you uninstall any existing drivers first.?
I'm using ASCOM 6.6 SP1 - 6.6.1.3673

Re: NINA+QSI 532 camera and on camera filter wheel
Wiliam thanks,
David Davies has also sent me a version that he says works on his system.? So between the two of you hopefully I will get something that works if not then I can try your suggested test.
Best wishes.

?I¡¯ve never used NINA with my QSI cameras, only MaxIm DL under the overall control of ACP when using the observatory for live and scheduled observing, TheSkyX Pro for maintenance when creating sky models for a Paramount mount in my own observatory and some Linux drivers written specifically for our remote observatory software using the original QSI SDK. Your error message: ¡°Ascom driver error?Unable to connect to QSI internal filter wheel. Reason Property read QSIcamera.CCD Camera focus offsets is not implemented in this driver¡± Appears to be a QSI ASCOM driver error that at a guess is only being relayed by NINA.
With this kind of ASCOM problem I would recommend using the ASCOM developer ConformU tool, connect to the QSI filter wheel in ConformU and run the ConformU filter wheel tests, if you see the same error reported that would confirm there is a bug in the QSI ASCOM driver and it is ATIK¡¯s problem to resolve, if the ConformU filter wheel test pass ok then that is a problem for the NINA devs to fix. You can forward the run log of the ConformU test to either ATIK or NINA support depending on the outcome although as far as I can tell the QSI brand is dead as far as ATIK software support goes.

Hi William,
I have downloaded them and thanks.
Can I confirm that at some time you have had the QSI camera working via NINA ver 1 or 2.

Eric

Here is a download link to my archive of QSI drivers: My QSI cameras are currently retired and I can't remember which drivers I was using last time the cameras were in use, I think I might have been using MaxIm DL and TheSkyX plug-ins, and not ASCOM. The official ATIK - QSI support site only lists the original 1.0.0.3 installer and the 2020-07-30 installer but I do have a copy of 1.0.0.5, and one of the early 64 bit installers, 7.4.1824.0, that includes the plug-ins for MaxIm DL and TheSky. Maybe one of those might work for you. I'm running short of space on GoogleDrive again so I'll only keep these available for a few weeks..... HTH William. |
