Re: Dead on start up
I can confirm the quality of old inductor seemed to be the problem. It had 9R resistance - I substituted a 33uH SMD one with 2R resistance and all is good. Thanks to all for the help, Neil G4BRK

Re: white blocks of death yet again
That is just plain wrong! The QCX could be working and writing characters to the display and you would not be able to see them. You should be able to adjust the contrast so the blocks become so faint

Re: QSX feature request
Hi all, i do not think that one cable for both cat an sound at the same time will work unless the pc sees the qsx as a usb hub with two devices connected a serial interface for CAT and a usb sound

Re: QCX died after one QSO
Mine is No.1300 Not sure if it's an early one or not? Think I may order a replacement micro-controller. If its not that at least I will have newer firmware.

Re: white blocks of death yet again
Thanks Tim that works. Is there a reason why I need to replace L5? It seems to work fine with the jumper in.

Re: QSX feature request
Hi Arvo The question is clear and is a good one. I believe that theoretically QSX can manage both the USB Audio and the CAT control, along the same cable. This is because a USB connection supports

Review all the solder joints with a magnifier and touch up as required. If still no joy, I would order another micro-controller. -- 73, Bernie, VE3FWF
