Re: Difficulty winding and installing transformer T1 #qcx
Hi guys, I took three goes to get mine correctly wound and installed. I have no excuses other than age! However here are the lessons I learned along the way since I wound my first one back in the mid

Re: ZL1RS balloon flight - BB04
I saw altitudes dropping and was hoping it collected moisture but would dry off and rise again...who knows...anything can happen with these things. Would not be a first . Optimism always high in this

Re: Difficulty winding and installing transformer T1 #qcx
I have not received my QCX yet but when I read the procedure for winding T1 my thought was why not wind each one separately?? I have built a lot of kits and wound a lot of toroids and that seems to

Hello John, Whilst appreciating your good intent I see no purpose dividing places to discuss QRP Labs products. I am a member of the Kenwood TS-590 group that spawned a second group, and that is in

Taking another stab at getting my 80m QCX up and running
After much "wailing and gnashing of teeth" I decided to remove the transformer (T-1) and re-wind it. It seems like T-1 is the logical culprit for low receive gain and the inability to adjust C1 for a

Re: 20m QCX Serial #249 will not setup
Check solder connections on rotary encoder. I had same problem - no response to long press- found that I had forgotten to solder two pins.

Re: Difficulty winding and installing transformer T1 #qcx
It's definitely? a trial in self restraint, LOL. The hand drawn diagram is great and lays it out very well but one does need to be quite dexterous and patient. Hold the coffee until you are done!

Re: Difficulty winding and installing transformer T1 #qcx
You probably could do it that way, but make sure you pay attention to the phase of the windings, as that is important in the circuit. Jack, W8TEE To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, January 14, 2018

My QCX does the same thing. I found that I apparently sparked pin 19 (I think) of the micro controller. It is grounded internally and does that I have a new chip on the way. Barry NF1O
