QMX mid band 60m reassignment
Just ordered a mid band 60 - 15m
As I'm just a lowly intermediate license holder and therefore not allowed on 60m it'll be an entirely wasted band.
Can I resign that filter for anything else ??

Re: Issues with QCX+ kit
I don't think the display issue is relevant to this unless you are having
display troubles too.
What is relevant though is that a low level signal from the internal
generator used for those alignment

Sandy,
Your guidance was spot on!
A double press of the TUNE knob displays the Message list then a single press of the same TUNE knob produces only a single transmission of the message. This is how

Re: QMX+ Build Report and Low Power Question on 40m and 30m
Just to add a question. There's obviously reduced flow here, or something's not right anyway, should I refrain from any sort of transmitting on 40m while it's well below 3W? I assume anything from

Re: QMX+ Build Report and Low Power Question on 40m and 30m
Up to 1.6W on 40m and 0.75W on 30m now. Resoldered and jiggled about the windings. I think next step is taking them out completely and just really tightening up the turns. The fact that doing that and

Re: Issues with QCX+ kit
Thanks Bruce for mentioning the bad joints. For my own edification, would you be able to tell me (maybe by referencing the picture) which joints look the most problematic? I ask because I did inspect

Re: QMX Message Repeat

Interesting - I can't comment on the message behavior of your rig, but I have message 1 and message 2 populated and set to an interval 4 seconds, repeat 0 (ie infinite until button 2 pressed).

Re: QMX shows 3v3 SMPs board stuck in linear
This looks very familiar to me.
On the diagnostic page do not worry about the 5.63 volt report. That is because the output of the 3.3 linear supply is probably more like 3.1 volts, and that is being

Re: QMX 80-20M - High SWR on Dummy Load?
#qmx
#swr-sweep
Don, a while ago I've made this when building my hi band QMX. The result was not significant better than for my lo band QMX with much spacing between the one turn windings and the 10 turns windings.

QMX+ Rev1 Build Report
Hi All,
I just completed the QMX+ kit that I purchased at the Hamvention in May. It's built as 12V version, running 1_00_20 firmware. Everything seems to be functioning well. Power out is as follows

This QMX (mini) kit was assembled in March 2024 and loaded with 1.00_018 firmware. A 21 character CQ POTA related text was entered into Message 1 with additional settings of Interval 5 and Repeat 2 in

Re: QMX 80-20M - High SWR on Dummy Load?

There is also capacitive coupling between primary and secondary windings of the bridge. This degrades directivity as the frequency increases. This causes a poorer VSWR reading than the actual load.

Re: QMX shows 3v3 SMPs board stuck in linear
Robbie, you should check the 3V3 SMPS (PCB #2) off line ( see here ( /g/QRPLabs/wiki/37128 ) ).
Your 3V3 SMPS is working full speed (Duty cycle = Duty max) but not enough

Re: Issues with QCX+ kit
Hi Paul. Bruce is correct. The DC on the drains of the BS-170s will "look
like" RF to the detector circuit even when no RF is present and the max
reading that circuit will show is "5.2 watts" so you

Dear Dan,
I put a string of 8 diodes together and hooked that to my 12V power
supply.? That took the voltage down 4.8 volt so it is around 7V for
testing.?? I don't trust those Chinese power

Re: QMX 80-20M - High SWR on Dummy Load?

Matching and correlating SWR readings is always going to be difficult. Some meters use a Faraday shield around the single turn winding ....the QMX+ does not. Then you have core characteristics,
