QMX only appears as a flash drive when it's in update mode...
Are you saying that you put it into update mode, and you can't see a flash drive?

Hi Greg,
Here is what I would do:
1) check all the caps in the lpf section - make sure you installed the correct values in the right places.
2) double check the turns on each toroid
3) if all above

Thanks to all for the suggestions.? I did take the bottom cover off the QMX and paralleled a 100 ohm resistor on R210.? Now the 50 Watt amp does reliably key.? I use an external harmonic filter on

QMX Success !!
Hi folks,? Greg KI4NVX here.
Finished the build of my QMX Rev3, firmware 1_00_017 yesterday afternoon.
Since I bungered my BNC connector during a brain cramp episode, I soldered in a BNC connector

Hi,
I don't know if you have tried this but try using a different cable. I have
one from the first batches of the QMX and found that I pretty much have to
use a type A to C cable (as opposed to a type

hi Paul, I loaded the different firmware 3 times, but now the PC doesn't
recognize the qmx as a flash drive but as an audio device, I don't
understand why.

Hmm, would have to steal a signal generator from work, but can probably also use the TX of my KX3 as well [note to self: need a signal generator for the home lab some day].? I did some testing with

Once firmware is loaded, the QMX won't show itself as a flash drive. But, there is an option in the main menu to update firmware. Use that, and you should see the flash drive for updating.

Re: QCX mini 30m Rev.2 Stray capacitance?
Yes, I agree. That is what happens when the low end of the pot is not
grounded. I really think this part needs to be checked. If that's not
it you might check resistances around the leads of IC10.

Re: QCX mini 30m Rev.2 Stray capacitance?
The volume control does work, just that it seems the signals are very loud unless I have the volume nearly all the way down.

Martin,
If you can, set up a signal generator to emit a strong continuous signal to
a wire radiator and use your QMX to receive it to produce an audio beat
note in the range 500Hz-1000Hz.

Yes, the radio was in CW mode.? Also, Q508 is good too, I can use the diagnostics to put it into TX mode temporarily by doing the SWR/LPF tests and watch the node at the drain go to 12V and back.
