Re: QMX (80-20m) Rev 2 Harmonics
I'll go shop for another attenuator and retest. This one came with the Tiny SA from Amazon and I can't find much about it online. Will visit HRO later.

Re: QMX (80-20m) Rev 2 Harmonics
The green 'HARM' text on the left of the display in the screenshot actually appears on my Tiny SA when the unit is placed in harmonics testing mode: Menu>Measure>Harmonics. You then input the

Re: QMX (80-20m) Rev 2 Harmonics
I haven't been able to find much about it. The attenuator came with the Tiny SA Ultra from Amazon as an optional accessory. It just indicates that it's 25W. I can run to HRO nearby later and grab

Thanks Evan.
It is a Rev 2 PCB (QMX 20 to 10m) and I have added the 1N4148 as suggested by Hans.

Re: L401 changes

Hi Rick,
As long as you do not change the LPF selection.? You do not state if this is a Rev1 or 2 board.? If it is a Rev2, I suggest adding the protection diode on Q508.? This is listed on the QMX

L401 changes
#bpf
#qmx
I have been doing some tweaking of my 20 - 10m (12VDC) QMX. Today I was "playing" with the the BPF settings for L401.
I was concerned in particular with the image rejection (-28.3) and band centre

QMX: Requiescat in Pacem
My QMX just passed away - requiescat in pacem !
You might remember, that I built it in August ( /g/QRPLabs/message/107523 ).
I did only a handful of FT8 QSOs with it, to validate,

QCX WARC Party - January 2024
Hi all,
next Monday, January 15, is the next QCX WARC Party.
See https://www.qrp-labs.com/qcxmini/qcxwarc.html for all info, and remember we have new rules to encourage the use of QDX and QMX

Re: QMX TN0110 Heat Sink
Direct heat conduction to a metal case is the best solution and copper
strapping is the way to go. Aluminum isn¡¯t as good of a heat conductor but
it¡¯ll do in a pinch.

Re: Optimizing QMX (80m-20m, 12V supply) Power Output
You should be able to get more than that at 12v supply. I rewound the output transformer on mine using the RWTS method described in the online docs and the output power reached 6 watts into a dummy

Re: QMX (80-20m) Rev 2 Harmonics
A very common measurement problem is overdriving a spectrum analyzer.
The general rule of thumb is to not apply more than 0 dBm into the spectrum analyzer lest one see far more harmonic content than

I think there may be some other sneak things going on damaging the IC402.? It will be interesting to see if the diode mod. provides full protection, including other possible sneak actions.

Re: Is it possible to brick a QDX?
Once in firmware update mode just copy the new firmware file onto the "drive". It does not matter if the version of the new file is older or newer than what is there, it will replace it. DO NOT DELETE

Re: QMX (80-20m) Rev 2 Harmonics
That is an excellent result, Bojan.
Bryan,
Is it possible that your " attenuator " is not that at all, wherein the
output BNC is in fact a peak voltage rectifier port for measuring power?

Re: QMX (80-20m) Rev 2 Harmonics
Hi,
I was curious and measured my QMX?again
at +13.8V PS and
14.074 MHz (with 4 x TN0110 in PA).
With the RF output power of 5W the 3rd harmonic is ~58 dB down.
