Re: Loading QMX+ Firmware
Ron, are you sure COM5 is related to the QMX? How did you identify the port? Could you show please the device description and the Hardware IDs of this port? Did you use PuTTY with the default

Re: SDR with the QMX
OK Jerry, Until the QDX/QDM came along my main SDRs were Softrocks with soundcard ADC. They definitely have a hole in the middle. So Anders is correct, the direct coupling to the ADC enables the DC

Re: QMX Supply Voltage
I run my 12V build with a buck-boost converter and its output stays constant between 6 and 24V (IIRC). I chose 12V builds because my 12V accessories will work from the same source; they will not work

Re: QMX+ appears dead after firmware update
How did you copy the file?? I have seen recommendations to copy-and-paste rather than drag-and-drop the files. Glad you got it working again. 73, Don N2VGU

Re: Loading QMX+ Firmware
Did you hit the enter key after connecting to PuTTY? It will have a black screen until you press the enter key to activate the menu system.

Re: Loading QMX+ Firmware
Ludwig I should have defined this correctly, the on power current is 70ma. I did connect to the QMX with putty, com port 5, but there is no menu as described in the manual, just a black screen. 73 Ron

Re: SDR with the QMX
Many SDR's use a PC soundcard, with audio going from the SDR into the PC. That audio is AC coupled through a capacitor inside the PC, knocking out any DC component. The QMX has DC coupling between the

Re: SDR with the QMX
Hi Allan, I don't agree fully. My understanding is as follows. If you receive a signal with the same fq as the LO, the Tayloe mixer will charge the four capacitors differently to DC levels according

Re: What Pc software for QMX
There's a Wiki article on the QRP-Labs Wiki with instructions on how to do this.? I have *not* gone through the instructions myself, but I assume that they are accurate.? Link to the Wiki article -

Re: QMX 40-10?
Looking forward to further progress on this. If it was only 40-20-15-10 that would be fine with me.

Re: Pacific Antenna mic used on new QMX+ not working?
Can your power supply deliver the additional current when SSB starts?? If it can't the voltage will drop and all sorts of strange things could happen. All the same better that than generating smoke.

Re: SDR with the QMX
Anders, There is no reception at 0Hz. A DC spike might be seen, most software has a filter to remove that. A CW signal or AM carrier will not be received when exactly coincident to the LO. (Note in CW

Re: QMX+ & WSJT-X settings
if you are still with the non SSB software you can only use the COM Port once. So WSJT-x will not find the QMX, when the Com port is used i.e. for a logging programm. Not a big deal as the logging
