Re: QMX doesn't receive on 20-15 #qmx
Update: I replaced IC 402 and it fixed the radio!

Re: #QMX Rev4 v27, kit just built not working #qmx
Okay - I finally found what I was looking for. A way to do a factory reset and enable the transmitter in 1 parameter change. This is strange and is the common denominator for when I was able to get

Re: #qmx SSB Update #qmx
I use QRP labs for a reason, I love CW and I'm not interested in SSB phone.

Re: Just completed my QMX V3 build! Preset question (Bug?)
I've only ever used the preset frequencies on my QCX, not my QMX, interesting.

Re: Just completed my QMX V3 build! Preset question (Bug?)
Hi Steve and Dave. Regarding the QMX. I decided to work with Presets for the first time. I'm able to put in a few favorite frequencies. And I can see them if double click the Exit button. But, for the

Re: Reciever Module - Why cut the LO in 1/4th, how does it work?
To anyone else with a similar question, the tayloe detector uses a two phase (90deg apart) clock *AT* the receive frequency, not 4x above. The 4x LO is simply a common method to generate two different

Re: Reciever Module - Why cut the LO in 1/4th, how does it work?
Thank you all so much, every explanation cleared it up perfectly for me. "Sounds like your dividing by 4 twice in your mind.", exactly what I was doing. I appreciate the help :)

Re: Reciever Module - Why cut the LO in 1/4th, how does it work?
IC2 in that module is a couple of flip flops and is there to take a single signal and make a pair of signals that are 90 degrees apart and at the desired receive frequency. Unfortunately, that chip

Re: Reciever Module - Why cut the LO in 1/4th, how does it work?
The LO is 4x the recieve frequency and and the signal is sampled every 1/4 the LO frequency or 90 degrees.? That 1/4 divide by 4 is accomplished by IC2A and B. That drive the dual 1:4 analog

Re: Reciever Module - Why cut the LO in 1/4th, how does it work?
The Tayloe detector wants two LO signals that are in quadrature (phase shifted 90 degrees) to one another. ONE way to get this phase shift is to have a signal at 4X what you want to receive, and then

Reciever Module - Why cut the LO in 1/4th, how does it work?
Hello, After assembling the RX module it has been working great, and i'm really happy with the performance aswell, a wire in my basement was able to pickup FT8 across the sea! Anyway, I'm confused

Hi Ludwig - Yes, the encoders show the little right and left arrows when rotated the proper direction and the remaining switches check good. All Green. When I enter terminal mode Main

John and Pierre, Thanks very much! ?That was what I needed. I was able to run through the tests on my newly built QMX+. 73, Bill K4GDR

Re: 50w PA oscillations
Or you could build a small buffer to go between the QMX+ and amp keying input.? Then there would be no need to dig into your radio, plus it would afford a measure of protection for the radio. 73, Don

Re: QMX+ build: so close, and yet....
In my case, I found I had plenty of 28AWG wire, but they had ALSO included the older 0.6mm wire. I asked Hans about it, and he said it was just a shipping mistake, a holdover from the old V1 boards

Re: QMX+ build: so close, and yet....
I wanted to jump in and mention that I also didn’t receive enough 28AWG wire in my QMX (not plus) kit. At first, I thought it was just a one-off issue, but it seems like at least one other person

For no signal from RX you may read QMX QMX_plus Audio PCM1804 ( /g/QRPLabs/wiki/37111 ). What are the highest levels from rf sweep? The whole RX path up to the controller is involved

Hi Stan, yeah I thought of that too awhile ago but yesterday I was able to get it to transmit normally(no Rx). SK and paddles sending CW worked great listening on my KX2. Set to Iambic B, got the SWR

Re: #QMX Rev4 v27, kit just built not working #qmx
Yes, I plugged in a fully charged 3S 18650 2.6 Ah KX2 battery pack as well, no luck. I also increased the current limit on the bench supply to 12V, and 1.5 Amps. When the QMX did transmit yesterday,
