Re: QMX Moves to Shutdown
This would maen no short? between GND and pin 5 on the controlsboard. Pressing the left encoder should switchoff Q202 on the mainboard and this gives the signal "pressed" to the controller. If Q202

Re: QMX Moves to Shutdown
Gary, simple check: plug in the Controls board in the mainboard, connect Vin to the QMX and check voltage at pin 5 of JP302. QMX off: around Vin left encoder pressed: 0 V ;GND left encoder not pressed

Deaf CW QMX
Hi all, can help me please, in Digi mode on any band my QMX is sensitive and I can hear CW chatter but in CW mode I hear very little on any band. I have removed and checked L407 and T401, both are

Re: QMX Moves to Shutdown
Gary, the pins on the 2 encoders are easily, without knowing, shorted to ground while installing them.? With a DMM check continuity between the metal encoder casing and each of the encoder's pins.

Re: Rather not a successful build - QMX is deaf and mute #HighBand #qmx
Hi guys, I'm sorry for a late update in the topic, but I didn't have any RF probe so I had to make one before I could gather the measurements that you've suggested. My initial checks showed around 6V

Re: #ft8 FT8cn and QDX - QSO will not sequence #ft8
Hello Bud, I waited before replying to see if anyone had the answer to your question. Since no one else replied, I will pass on my experience using various QDX-M (all operating on 2200m) with Android

Re: QMX Moves to Shutdown
Thanks Chris for the reply.? I did plug the control board in to the main board and check for connections on all eight pins of S302,? I wondered if maybe the male pins were not touching all the

Re: QMX Moves to Shutdown
Initially I installed the connector pins on the control board the wrong way.? When assembling the control board onto the main board it was not obvious that the pins ere not contacting.? Fortunately

Re: QMX Moves to Shutdown
Thanks Ludwig for your input.? Finally got back to the project.? I took a look at the schematic and then checked where JP302 connects to S304. Also using the diagram on page 11 in assembly manual On

Outstanding. Progress always good. I too touch up solder joints on the 'opposite' side of the boards when they are accessible. And/or reflow joints where the 'opposite' side doesn't show some

Re: QMX T401 and IC402: Continuity issue #qmx
Greg - I reflowed the T401 pads from the top of the board And I now have continuity between T401 pads and pin 9 on IC402. So, I guess it was just a bad solder on my part. Thanks for your reply.

Re: QMX T401 and IC402: Continuity issue #qmx
Sorry for the late reply. Looking at the trace diagram, and the PCB, the connection from? T401 to IC401 appears to be a single trace from the 'C' pad on the lower right hand side right near the

Re: Progrock/SI5351 with tube type Motorola P33
Sorry for my late delay in replying. I am glad that someone else pitched in with an answer; I was going to say 1000 pF but the capacitance value is less critical. Much depends upon how much the rest

QMX Rev 1. Stopped running
I have a QMX Rev 1 that I just powered up and installed the 1.17 software. It was running fine at around 7V. The hardware tests and all the filters checked out using the terminal software. I had a

Re: I let the smoke out¡
Oh, my mistake. The band select signal will not change with a change in TX to RX. Posting too early, too little coffee. The other comments remain valid, especially regarding LPF2, and Jeff's services.

Re: Progrock/SI5351 with tube type Motorola P33
Ok great advise! got it! Output from si5351 to pin 4 of v1 with a .01 between, and another .01 between pin 4 and gnd. sounds easy enough. looks like I leave pin 2 of v1 alone?

Kitsandparts amp is adequate most likely...? The other using MMICS is gross over kill as you dong about 6mhz. It may work without the amp. Make V1 an amplifier not an oscillator: Pin 4 of the 1AD3 is

Mike I still cannot make heads nor tails of your scope traces. Puzzling. It may have something to do with problems in the LPF array, or maybe more. Regarding your matrix of voltage measurements: LPF0

QMX Diagnostic help, please
