Hello Mike

As far as I am aware the QDX still supports the standard TX; and RX; commands in the TS480 protocol. Nothing was removed. They are used by WSJT-X and JS8call for CAT Tx/Rx control. This still works in 1_08 and will continue to be supported.?

Re: QDX pairs nicely with the Micro PA50

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

This would make a great amp but unfortunately it does not cover the whole 10m band.

Not a good idea to stop at 28,5 MHz.

James,

Here is the link:?

You can manually change the band prior to key up if needed. Push the button 3 times successively.

A manual knob for band selections is what my MX-P50M has.

I did a quick check with a 3.5mm TRS cable with the IC705 and am finding strange behavior of the amp. I will need to do a bit more testing.

Joshua KJ7LVZ,

I will give the PTT cable a try with the QDX as well, hopefully today. As mentioned above, I am seeing strange behavior that I want to sort out.

Re: U4B general question

Working on a U4B sensing and sending radiation levels via the U4B telemetry channels project.? Let me know if anyone in our group is interested in working together on this interesting project.

Thanks!

Since I'm placing an order soon, I thinking of picking up a U4B.? Seems to have lots of possibilities.

I'd like to use it for general WSPR or QRSS transmission, perhaps remote running solar power.
From reading the operating manual, it seems I can program it to any frequency for WSPR or QRSS.
Since I want to use it on 22m? (13.555 xxxx MHz ) I just want to be sure I am correct.

Can someone confirm?? Since it is fairly complex, I may be missing something.

Thanks!

Re: #qdx 1_08 firmware release #qdx

Michael Black

Apparently TX/RX does not work anymore -- that's what Hamlib uses...FLRig is using the newer TQ1/TQ0.

This 64-bit DLL has the change to TQ

So give it a try.? It goes in the WSJT-X bin directory.

Mike,

I haven't looked at the code for the QDX in flrig, but the firmware manual for 1_06 and on has Tx and Rx as commands as well as the TQ. They should all work.

I see that QDX apparently wants the "TQ" command for PTT control.

What compatibility mode is that and why can't it use "TX/RX" like the TS-480 compatibility it claims?? At this point it should recognize either command to maintain backwards compatibility.

And the QCX does not support PTT control at all?

Phill,

Just a couple of things:

- Get the newest flrig alpha from www.w1hkj.com/alpha/flrig. It has a fix in flrig that affected the audio quality with firmware over 1_05.

- in Wsjtx select the rig as "flrig flrig" and use flrig for rig control. Makes life much easier. Set USB and Rig for Radio settings to let the QDX use Split.

- I don't know about JTDX, but it may support using flrig as well.

Joshua:

You can shorten the URL considerably by just using the ID number (3256804580861697). (See below.) The same idea works on Amazon and eBay, too.
