QMX No Tx
I'm sure this isn't new, but just to talk about my experience. My QMX has been working - Tx and Rx, but I hadn't used it for some time apart from some listening and testing of a mini antenna tuner.

Re: QMX question: What is maximum safe VSWR for TX in digital modes?
Here's a way of knowing of any semiconductor device is being stressed (regardles of SWR blah blah). And it' the temperature of the device when operating into the load in question. Typically any

Re: #qmx #qmx+ #firmware version 1_00_023 release #qmx #firmware
Hello Hans, I installed the latest version and everything was ok. I did a factory reset and everything is ok except the connection with Putty which no longer works. Although the Putty connection

Re: QMX question: What is maximum safe VSWR for TX in digital modes?
Something doesn't seem right with that. I'm running 9Volts into a QMX built for 12V. Output was measured "north of 5Watts" at 12V. When running 9Volts in, I get a measured 3.75-4Watts out. How are

Re: QMX question: What is maximum safe VSWR for TX in digital modes?
True. I am using the 50W PA at +20V. But QMX at 10 - 11V on 20m and 17m. -- 73 Bojan S53DZ

QMX backlight never really off?
Hi all, I have noticed on my Rev. 4 QMX that even with the backlight turned OFF in the display settings, the backlight LED is illuminated a bit. I'm running the latest firmware as of today (1_00_23)

Re: QMX RIT Issue
RS - agreed - 10 Hz should be plenty fine for most of us CW ops. After reading other posts on this subject I realized there IS a way to have 10 or 1 Hz RIT tuning, by holding in the TUNE button while

Re: HAKKO 301 desoldering tool
Yes, I also found flux on the solder wick makes it work much better. I always use a liquid flux that I found works quite well. Dean - KC9REN

Re: QMX question: What is maximum safe VSWR for TX in digital modes?
Hi Steve, I would say 2.0:1 max at +12V DC, 2.5:1 max at +11V and 3.0:1 max at +10V. This is my suggestion. I stick to these rules set by myself and so far no harm to my QMX+ PA. But I must say I am

Re: QMX question: What is maximum safe VSWR for TX in digital modes?
"Too much power going into the amplifier" wasn't the question. The question was, "What is maximum safe VSWR for TX in digital modes?" I'm not worried about overdriving the PA; I'm concerned about

So, an evolutionary dead end? That's a shame, as it is a fun CW rig to operate. I must say I am using my QMX almost exclusively ATM. It is indeed a marvel... tnx Hans! de Russ, va3rr
