RS - agreed - 10 Hz should be plenty fine for most of us CW ops. After reading other posts on this subject I realized there IS a way to have 10 or 1 Hz RIT tuning, by holding in the TUNE button while turning. I suppose that is an acceptable way to do it, but it would be nice if Hans could get the rig to 10 Hz steps by pressing the TUNE button like we can do for the other steps.
?
But for me, not being able to do anything with the left encoder control or the left button is a big PITA. This morning I was in a net on 40 meters. Not everyone was zero beat to the NCS so I was using the RIT to stay on frequency but copy the other stations at a tone that worked for my old ears. There were instances where I wanted to change the filter width to compensate for QRM and QSB, but once RIT is open you are hosed, so to speak!
?
So, I'm hoping this little glitch that has cropped up after rev level xxx.19 can be squashed before too much longer. :-) :-)
