I was also trying to order Q900, as I was looking for an '817 replacement. Somehow the PMR-171 seems to have doubled in weight for the same innards, and is now the weight of my FT-891.
If you want to use 2m/70cm, then the RX sensitivity given in the specs? is poor on 2m and very poor on 70cm ((0.5uV, 12dB worse than FT817).
If they perform per specs - you won't be using it with great success for satellite comms or VHF/UHF SSB contest work without a preamp
Given that they don't seem able to give a consistent weight for these radios, they might be better or worse than specs.
