Kristall Grun metallic 85 Euro (Portland)
Alright Benno!. You have to add this to your collection. Love the color and interior. (except the painted spoilers). And it's a euro 85. Grand Prix motors in Portland https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/a50edfec-e474-442b-aca4-7a81e16d3b19/ some details from the ad: Porsche 928S (1985) 1-Owner (6th Prime Minister of Kuwait - Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah) 6,950 miles (10,569 km) PTS Kristallgrun Metallic CXX Green Velour AutomaticThis Porsche 928 S is a rare find, boasting low mileage and being in excellent condition both technically and visually. It's no wonder, considering it has had only one owner throughout its life --- the sixth Prime Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah. The car was kept at the Sheikh's villa in France and used exclusively as a weekend vehicle. As a result, it has clocked just 6,950 miles (10,569 km), as shown on the odometer (European specification).Sheikh Nasser was known for his penchant for unique and eye-catching cars, and this Porsche 928 S is no exception. It was custom-ordered in the rare PTS Kristallgrun Metallic color, featuring an exclusive CXX Green Velour interior with natural wood accents. To ensure the Sheikh was always connected, the car was equipped with an Alcatel phone. This rare Porsche 928 S is sure to be a highlight of any car collection.

S4 / 4.5 clutch interchange
6
Happy holidays all, I'm nearly able to get back to work on the 928 after a few months of home repairs and an unexpected E30 rebuild. I'm planning on installing the G28 trans I got a while back, since my OE 81 manual doesn't seem to like downshifting. I'm wondering about the feasibility of installing the single disc S4 stuff on the 4.5. I'm frustrated with the twin disc parts, and have the SD flywheel/pressure plate/ clutch arm/ bellhousing from the S4. Has anyone verified if this will work? I'd love to have a clutch with no issues when I get it all swapped out. Thanks - Jeff Evans

FS: Black 87+ new floor mat set, genuine Porsche
7
Greetings, I purchased this set of black mats with the hopes they would fit reasonably well in my 1980 car. Turns out they do not, but they do fit great in 1987 and later. No surprise, since that's what they are intended for. $100, brand new, located in Wenatchee. Hopefully someone can use them! Andrew 1980 928 5-speed

78 5sp for sale in Silverdale (on Facebook marketplace)
Interesting one. Likely redone seats (recaro fabric), and basically a bunch of parts inside (and some large bolt on spacers :D ), but doesn't really look that terrible (straight door panels). Outside looks pretty clean overall. They are asking $3,000. A bit high unless it's an early 78, but could make for a nice project for someone. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/3865424620413160/ If anyone goes to look at it or inquires, I'd be curious to see the VIN and if it's original paint etc....

Local 944 and a 928 for sale
Found on Craigslist in Tacoma. Selling a 84 944, and mentions the 928 is for sale too. Pics also show a 911 (996?) in the mix. Prefers talking via phone call to chat about the Porsches :) . Seems to be an enthusiast from how the ad reads. Maybe a good deal for someone to check out. The 928 looks pre-86 and has H4 headlights. https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/d/tacoma-1984-porsche-944-low-miles-owner/7807852070.html

6 pack of Porsche 928 Oil Filters
3
Found this on Craigslist in Vancouver (WA). Sounds like someone picked them up and never used them (so they sat for a while). Doubt they go bad, but at $25 for all, not too bad a deal. If you're local, maybe worth it? https://portland.craigslist.org/clk/pts/d/brush-prairie-porsche-928-oil-filters/7800177379.html

WUR and strange control pressure
4
I had my WUR rebuilt several years by 928 Classics. Recently, it has been giving me fits starting when cold. Pressure testing showed the cold control pressure was over 30 psi. When rebuilt, the screw/locknut mod was done. No amount of adjustment would bring the cold pressure down. Yanked it and disassembled it. Everything looks fine inside. Tested the warm up strip. It works. If I connect it back to the fuel lines on the car with the bottom 2 halves off (ie no spring pressure), the cold control pressure is fine at 14psi. If I depress the cup where the pin sits, the pressure smoothly rises, as it should. But when I put the bottom back on, the two springs compress and raise the cold control pressure back up to mid-40s. I have done this several times. The pin sits in the cup in the circular disc assembly properly. The spring cup and the springs are assembled properly. Any ideas what could be going on?

Louis Ott RIP :(
16
Benno just posted on Rennlist that Louie has passed (somewhat unexpectedly). He heard this from Louie's sister who runs Finishline Performance Coatings. We in the PacNW were so lucky to have him here with his numerous "inventions" for the 928! Such sad news. Time seems to be marching on a little faster these days. RIP Louie! My thoughts go out to Louie's family and esp Chris in the sad time. Tom

93 GTS - AT ($30K) (Vancouver BC)
9
Intriguing for sure. In BC but looks like a US model. Has high (relatively) 151K, and obvious issues; however, the ad clearly states stuff done (there's a lot). Work done by Colin so I suspect he knows more about it. Oil consumption issues (like all GTS'), overall looks decent and in my mind seems to be a great way to get into a GTS and then pull a "Benno" and do a 5sp swap, engine rebuild, and you're good to go :D. https://mart.pca.org/ads/68485

Devek bolt in roll bar for sale
Haven’t posted to this site for many years now but still enjoy the content/banter, etc. I have a Devek (Autopower?) bolt in roll bar that I used in my S4 and in my GTS a couple of times for Pony Express events many years back. It is really pretty much like new and also has a nice camera mount attached. $250 OBO for anyone that wants it. Lake Oswego, OR. Tom Moore

Wanted - junk crank
My machine shop is cleaning a S4 crank for one of my engine builds. We want to clean out the sludge ports on the crank but have concerns about drilling out the plug pins on my nice crank. We are looking for a junk crank we can practice on first. Let me know if there is one available in the PDX area. Picture of plug: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rJSAOJhXaAzG2CPMtTMMERjXF1ibJ6Ww/view?usp=sharing I'm also looking for guidance on how best to remove the plug and reseal them. My understanding is that the plugs are hardend steel pins pressed in with an aluminum sleeve. The hardened steel is very difficult to drill out, so tips are appreciated. My understanding replacing the plugs require tapping out threads into the impossibly hardened steel crank and then using a threaded plug, preferably a tapered thread. Any thoughts and recommendations here are appreciated. Thanks for you thoughts in advance, -- 1992 Porsche 928 GTS Japan market https://benno928.wordpress.com/
