Drag Day
Not sure if anyone is already doing this but I could video the days events
and compile a CD for anyone that wants one. You could replay on your computer (SW does a multitude of formats) or the family DVD player, I don't have professional equipment just my computer and camcorder. Just a thought. Called a local Mercedes (in Coeur d'alene) specialist about my gearbox leak and once over the "I don't work on Porsche's" issue he was very helpfull. Unfortunately he can;t think of a probable cause but said he would do some investigating and get back to me. Fingers crossed. Meanwhile will top up today and give it a blast. Chris 91S4 |

I'm jealous of the fact that you have three. I used to have 2, having sold my '86S not too long after the purchase of the '89. Speaking from experience, your insurance bill must be frightening! I'm also intrigued by the mods to your '85. Sometime when you're in Hillsboro, can we get together so that I can check it out? Call me... So, the crank is a total write off and the block will take extensive machine work to get back in shape (aluminum impregnanted with silicon is a beggar to work I'm told) so I'm investigating a replacement motor. What will really torque me though, is if I put all this money into it and I can't squeeze out enough to stroke it out... I'm looking for the bright side here. Lloyd -----Original Message-----

Hi, again.
Curt Nichols
On a more needy note-
I moved to Seattle at the very end of 1999, and have enjoyed being out here. I'm still adjusting a bit to the weather (I'm told summer actually starts in July, can't wait!), but this is a gorgeous area to live in. I'm originally from Madison, Wisconsin, which is a pretty cool city, and I like Seattle a lot. The forests here remind me of northern Wisconsin's forests, only with mountains in most every direction I look. Wonderful. So, nearly six months have passed, I've become more comfortable with the Seattle housing market, and have found a condo I like. Still no place to put the car up on stands and lie under it while pondering its mysteries, but it will do for a while. Unfortunately, the timing of my move is beastly and I haven't been able to schedule a carrier to move me. So, I get to do something I haven't done for a long time: move myself. And I get to do something else I've never liked doing: ask for help. I could really use a few helping hands to load and unload on Saturday, June 24th about 10am. It should take about 4-6 hours, judging from the last time I did this. Lunch is on me, and I'll be indebted to you if you can help. I've reserved an oversized truck so there's no stacking, just on, off, up the elevator. We'll leave the piano to the professionals. And you'll probably get to meet my mom when she's in town. What else can I say? Any takers? Curt Nichols '87 928 S4 A/T great white -- Seattle, USA member: Rennlist, 928OC, PCA/PNWR, ACM |

Re: Shark Sighting
Bobby: I took my 88 to Akers to have it adjusted and it was about 100 bucks
which i thought was good, I took the 88 to Larson and i was very disappointed in the mechanics there. I had a brain go out and they chased a gas problem for 3 weeks, kept telling me that i got some bad gas.....anyway 1000 dollars in labor later they came up with the brain they got a test unit from somewhere and put it in and it fired right up. So I don't think much of there mechanics. Calvin 90S4 |
