The Old Buggers are very sensitive to current flow (and also have a wire for cold start I think) that makes them prone to not starting.?
A simple solution if the starter bench tests OK is to add a relay in the system so the full 12V is applied directly to the starter.
If that's your issue, search rennlist for the way to wire in the relay....

4? Buy a new Bosch starter at a lower price. The Porsche branded starter is about $800. This is really just a Bosch starter and you should be able to find one using this part number " 0 986 013 880".?

Re: Seeking S4 fog/driving light lens

Well, I procrastinated for a week, and now Roger is also sold out of the left ROW-spec lens that was showing in stock a couple weeks ago.? :-(

So I guess I'm back to looking for a used (USA left) lens or pair of (ROW) lenses, if anyone knows anyone with an S4 parts car.

I don’t recall the original manhole cover offsets but they’re exactly what I used to bump up to 9s and 10s which fit great and there’s room to go inboard in back.?

Quick run suggests that with a 235 tire on the front and a 275 on the rear it should fit...but play around with the numbers to see what you come up with.

Re: OB 928 offset question

Hi Jeff, the front wheels will definitively?fit and be a very good offset. The rears might be close. I used a similar-sized?18x8 ET 52 on my S4 with a 275 tire. The tire was about 1.5cm inside the fender lip. You might need to use one of those comparisons to see how much closer those 11" wheels will stick out. It could be a close fit depending on the tire?size.

I went to move the 928 today. ?Started fine, but the starter wouldnt disengage. ?Apparently the solenoid stuck.

Went to shit it off with the ignition key, ?Everything powered down, but the engine kept running. ?Seems the direct connection to the battery allowed the starter to keep turning and keep the engine running.

Took way too long to get to the battery and disconnect it

Check the front of engine harness.?

You could have a short between the starter wire and main battery wire.?
