Re: Source for starter

I am using the HiTorque Mini Starter () and would recommend it. The price is $245. Chris at HiTorque is great and will know what you need. You can read about it here:?

If you want the original Porsche (928-604-103-01, 928-604-103-04,?928-604-103-06?928604103AX) or Bosch (0986013880) equivilant you have a few additional options:
1. buy a used one from Jeff. I also have a used spare that is sitting in my garage.
2. Have your's rebuilt but a local rebuilder. Try a good search for Starter Alternator rebuilders. See if you can find a bosch certified rebuilder. These are very common services, and you should be able to find a local service center. Costs should be around $125-$200. Your starter will have all the worn items replaced, and it will be painted.?
3. Buy a rebuilt Bosch unit (028851500272). Here is one for ?and here for
4. Buy a new Bosch starter at a lower price. The Porsche branded starter is about $800. This is really just a Bosche?
