Query unconfirmed countries but worked by band

Is there a way to query the database to identify countries worked but not confirmed by band??
I see the list qsos with unconfirmed but I don't think this allows a band by band query.
Thanks - Rick NY1V

Hi Norm,

Thanks for your e-mail.? Use the telnet hosts for POTA specific DX spotting alerts:

dx.cqspot.com
port 1234

dxc.n1rbd.radio
port 7300

Enjoy!

Re: Sudden LOTW loading problem

As others have said - sounds like your ARRL TQSL certificate has expired.? I recall that happens every 3 years (?), but unsure of the exact time.
?
ARRL should have notified you of the pending expiration and renewal process, but the last time mine expired a strange thing happened when attempting to renew.
?
My ARRL.net email alias which I use for ham radio communications would NOT forward the new certificate.? They tried sending it to me twice - no success.? They then suggested I simply log into LoTW and download the new certificate manually, which worked fine.? Note - I almost never log into LoTW since N3FJP does such a great job easily up & downloading contacts / confirmations with simple mouse clicks.
?
Didn't think much about the email problem until I returned an Icom radio for repair.? Icom's service center tried to send me a UPS label as a PDF email attachment - again using my same ARRL email address.? They tried twice, unsuccessfully.? The service tech then suggested we try a different (non ARRL) email address, mentioning some similar difficulty in the past.? My alternate email address worked perfectly, as expected.? So my takeaway is that the ARRL.net? email alias system does not always properly forward messages with attachments (or at least was having problems about a year and half ago).? No idea if it's a know problem, but thought it ironic the first occurrence I noticed was with a message originated by ARRL itself!

All Things Data

Hi Bob,

I won't do a long reply on the forum. I found several resources, including some paid.
I was looking for a little more meat for each mode rather than - mostly - superficial
descriptions and comparisons.

From the ARRL web site:
"JS8call has replaced PSK31 as the keyboard to keyboard mode, though 20M PSK31
can still be found."

I've gone through 17/58 chapters of the resource I'm using. So far, nary a word about JS8call
but PSK31 appears among and is the answer for no small number of questions from
the Extra pool.

Go figure.

Let's go off-line from here. I don't want Scott jumping on my old bones <g>

Clear Skies,

FWIW Brian,
The ARRL Extra Class License Manual ( https://www.arrl.org/extra-class-license-manual ) has about 15 pages (chapter 8) devoted to digital modes. It may be the overview you're looking for.

For something like that, I'd recommend Grid Tracker or JT Alert.? ACL does not have alerting for POTA that I've seen and WSJT does not have alerting beyone color coding decode lines, that I have seen.

Hi Mike,

I have one of my three "rigs" set up as "none."?? Then I can just use Cntrl-X to turn off the ACLog <-> Computer I/O to allow WSJT-X to take rig control.? When done with FT8, I use Cntrl-X again to re-establish ACLog I/O control.

Turning on WSJT first if desired is the simplest way but I still want to get it working in the manner alluded to in the N3FJP FAQ. Because I like playing around. :)

All Things Data

This is probably off-topic, so any replies should go to me directly.

I'm coming here because so many of you are involved with various forms of digital modes. Digital is not my thing. For one: too many toys, too little money and/or time, too involved into starting up in POTA.

However, I'm studying for the Extra ticket and, of course, there are a number of potential questions about digital communications. Some of the questions mention modes and methods of modulation that are completely unknown to me and - more important - in none of the on-line sources I found during a 2 AM search. Most of them claimed to be the complete guide to digital, yet modes on the test were not mentioned and beyond the obvious ones, there didn't seem to be a consistent list of common modes.

I don't want to be a digital expert, but I would like to find a reasonable comprehensive primer on digital that goes beyond the surface. I feel I should be able to do and know better than just memorize the answers for the exam pool.

Re: WSJTX Integration

I've been letting WSJT control the rig. Logging a contact is simple, it goes right to N3FJP.? No problems there.?
?
But I have been trying to set things up so that if I am NOT using WSJT, N3FJP rig control is fully functional without changing any settings, as per these instructions from N3FJP:
?
?
  • Alternatively, you can set AC Log to perform rig interface and set WSJT-X's rig selection to None.??Please note that if you go this route, it is best to set AC Log to return?Mode by Frequency?and enable?Return All Mapped Digital Modes.? Otherwise,? AC Log will display SSB for mode until you log a contact, but the mode will be saved as the proper digital mode either way.? AC Log will set most rigs to transmit as WSJT-X transmits, so WSJT remains fully functional with AC Log performing rig control.
The only difference from these instructions is that my WSJT has a "rig" selection labelled "N3FJP" and that is what I used.? When I set that up correctly, BOTH programs are reading the frequency, band and (for ACLog) mode data simultaneously.?
?
The issue is with PTT.? When I set it up this way, I get a message from WSJT that the PTT selection is invalid.? The integration FAQ says that "AC Log will set most rigs to transmit as WSJT-X transmits" and I am wondering how it does that and what PTT setting in WSJT will make that program happy.?
