Re: Screen Resolution

Hi Richard,

Thanks for your e-mail.?

You can change the amount of screen ACLog uses by clicking Settings, Appearance, Form Size and entering a smaller value.? As you know, the default is 100%.

Hi Scott and all. I have been a registered using of AClog for about

running several apps at the same time is a problem.

Re: wish list

Hi Mike,

The ARRL's Log Book of the World uses either ADIF or Cabrillo files.? All of my software already generates either one or both file types so everything is good to go.? Just set up your account with the LOTW, download their upload software and you should be all set.

if you assembled the interface as per the drawings on the web site then it
should work....i was getting cw backwards because i had the input pins wires
backwards from the drawing.....if you are getting a steady key you might
want to check your diodes to see if they are in correctly....the band should
be on the side of the transistor.....hope this helps....doug

Re: CW interface capabilities

Hi Dee,

I've had lots of good reports from users who have constructed the serial port interface on my website.? I believe the serial schematic is fine.

If anyone has built a parallel interface and has a copy of the schematic that they used I'd love to add it to the website.

Hi Matt,

It is really hard to predict. Sometimes a section of code that I think
will take only an hour to write doesn't work out as expected and a day is
"lost" coming up with an alternative. Other times things fall right into
place. I'm shooting for the end of August or early September, but the
window is pretty wide. I am spending every available minute I have on the

I am trying to test as much as I can during the development. I'm not sure

Hi Jason,

Thanks for your e-mail.

I had a number of requests for that feature following our switch to
daylight time this past spring. I have added code in version 2.4 so that
ACLog will check your system clock on startup and alert you if your UTC
offset requires adjustment. In addition to always being excited about
making new ACLog enhancements available, I have quite a sense of urgency
to
make ACLog 2.4 available before the time change for that very reason.

As most of you know, I have already completed the CW enhancements and
am
now working on the RAM data management. The RAM features are going to add
a
good bit of snap to the program that I think everyone will like, but the
coding is taking quite a bit longer than I had originally thought. With
all
that in mind, I think the major upgrades to 2.4 will be focused on the CW
and performance enhancements. I've got lots of other suggestions on the
list and as soon as 2.4 is available I will continue working on the
additional enhancements.

Re: qso # field/print

Hi Radhames,

Thanks for your e-mail.

The code for numerically sorting the QSO# field when clicking on the column header is already completed for version 2.4.

With 31 fields, printing a single line QSO entry would not be possible on 8 1/2" by 11" paper (unless the font was incredibly small). The long term goal is to add code so that users can select the individual fields that they would like to print, the order in which they appear, etc.

I haven't had too many requests for this feature and adding the code would be a BIG project. Since it is already so easy to create customized reports by using ACLog in conjunction with a spreadsheet, the log printing enhancment has not made it to the top of the "to do" list.

To create customized reports by using ACLog in conjunction with a spreadsheet:

- Click List, List All from ACLog's menu options
- Click Edit, Copy Current List to Clipboard
- Start your spreadsheet program and click Edit, Paste

You can then format, sort and print your log any way that you wish.

I think that I may have found the problem. I forgot to mention that

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the clarification. I haven't had any other reports of
problems with the conversion utility. What hardware are you
running?

I guess import was the wrong word to use. I'm using the convert

it,
but locks the computer up every time now.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your E-mail. ?The FCC and RAC data is not imported
into
ACLog. ?The data exists as files on your hard drive with .cal
extensions that ACLog accesses for callbook lookup. ?You can
either
download the ACLog ready calldata from my website on the ACLog
page
or download and convert the data directly from the FCC and RAC
pages.

Either way, don't try to import the data into ACLog. ?Just set
a
path to the files on your hard drive and check the check box for
callbook lookup. ?When you tab from the Call field, the name and
address of any valid US and Candadian call will appear in the
appropriate data entry fields.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

It's also on a network.
