Re: Codeplug loses info and problems exporting...
Michael, Can you detail what key functions are disappearing? (Please note that the DCF file format as defined by AnyTone does not encapsulate all functionality of the various models. AnyTone uses this format specifically to support multiple models.) It's generally not necessary to use CSV files to move and/or manipulate information in Contact Manager. In particular, commands for transplanting/transforming channel information include Structural Import, Mass Change, and the system clipboard. If you must use CSV, we recommend using a raw text editor such as Notepad or GEdit that won't damage the information. Finally, I've attached an Excel spreadsheet that details the mapping of Channel fields within CSV files. This map is used by the CSV Services layer within Contact Manager to transcribe information as it is transported within and between codeplugs. Codeplug loses info and problems exporting...
When i edit a codeplug for any anytone radio and open to write to radio my key functions always disappear and i have to reset them up again. Any way to fix this?
Also when exporting channels only and trying to import the channel.csv?file i get an error code which says.. ImportFromFileError---o--C:\Users\Admin\Documents\578 Export List\Channel.CSV ?
Any help would be appreciated. |

Hello Frank, Great to hear from you - hope you are doing well. (Same for everyone on this list serve, of course).a) Check the box indicating that a copy of the channels is to be made. When Tom checks this group, then I'm sure he will see what I posted, and provide an answer.? I figured out a workaround and posted it.? And I have supported his work in the past.? I appreciate what he has done, but I am surprised that other CS800D users have not noted this problem, or if they have and there's an approved workaround, it can't be found with the current resources available.

I'm not bitching, I use it for what It use it for , have said these problems over and over for a year or so I gave up on that outlet,, it saves a lot of time on huge code plugs, but has to be cleaned up extensively in Excel ,, also since I know Geep I thought this E-mail was sent straight to me not the group and would have replied privately?LeeK4DUROn Thu, Apr 9, 2020, 1:30 PM Chuck Kraly K0XM <k0xm@...> wrote:Lee,

I'm trying to rebuild an latest firmware CS00D code plug.? Somehow, the one in the radio got corrupted, analog working fine, DMR not functional.
I used the saved code plug and exported contacts to an Excel file with the CPS, went in and cleaned it up, saved it.? Tried to import it into a new file with the CPS and? kept getting a server error no matter what I did.? So I decided to try contact manager.? Created a new plug in the CPS with minimal information, saved it, loaded it into Contact Manager.? did a CSV import of the saved Excel file, which I had converted to a CSV file.? The DMR addresses were inported as a straight series of number starting with 1.? Tried removing the header, same results.? Tried moving the DMR ID field to match the order of Contact Manager, and the import failed.
I could use the structural import feature, I guess, but I wanted to trim down the contact file and clean up errors as well as remove contacts that were showing the "F...L...C.." sequence (Lord only knows where THAT is coming from...) not re-import the entire contact file.? The Excel file I am trying to import has that done and all contacts re-numbered so as to be in the correct sequence.
I must be missing something.? Any comments welcome.

I tried re-arranging the Excel file and was able to import contacts correctly. ?The first column, with numbers needs to be removed. ?The DMR ID column need to be moved into the first position. ?Contact Manager then reads in the correct DMR id¡¯s.On Apr 9, 2020, at 11:01 AM, Gordon P. If the problem persists, let us know what's showing the DB status pane when you open the DMR Online Database Searcher. Right now when I open a copy here I see the following:Hello Bob,Try deleting the CM_DBCACHE file which will be a hidden file within the same folder as Contact Manager. This file is automatically refreshed each day. It's possible that you simply got a bad download when the DB was pulled from the web. Deleting this file will force CM to retrieve the database again. (Waiting until the next day has the same effect.)

I noticed it since there were not DMR ID's beginning with 316, they ended with 315, so explains why so many unknowns. I have kept mine under 10,000 added to the codeplug, using Search parameters ofall the states around me in Mid-Atlantic area, but I noticed that I went from about 9700 to 9100 and now 8700 records selected.
What am I doing wrong?

Chuck,
Thank you for everything you've done for the DMR community over the last five years (yes, half a decade).
All,
Contact Manager has only been possible because of the support of the ham radio community, as well as industry partners.
I check this e-mail every two days or so. It may be impractical at times to respond to individual mails, however, as in the past, I always try to address issues and questions as efficiently as possible. Our immediate emphasis will be to grow the support team. There are many skilled individuals that we will be engaging. I'm looking forward to where this takes us next!
?
Best Regards,
Tom
