The problem I think that lays in the smooth stepper, I have the same problem , with both that type of shuttle and the Russian one as well, and the problem disappear when I override the smooth stepper

Quick update on this.
Moved it into the lab where my experimental Pi4 1Gb LinuxCNC is living. Unfortunately not nearly as easy as in MACH to attach a Shuttle Express.

Save a copy of the Mach3 folder called Mach3_old or something similar. Reinstall Mach3 and copy over the .XML files and any changed screen sets to the new installation. See if that now works

Pick up a copy of Image for Windows (IMF) at www.terabyteunlimited.com.
If the computers ARE identical (same MOBO, and CPU), use IMF to clone the old hard drive to the backup hard drive.

If I set the Y jog increment to .01" i get a very strange motion. it lurches and jumps and apparently ends up ion the right place. the motion is definitely not normal, this sort of bizarre motion
