sensor hookup
this is how it is wired..
There are 4 pins on the sensor. Hook the out pin to the printer port pin, hook the 5volt to a 5v source, the common pin to the printer port pin 25 as well as the 0vdc line of the 5volt supply your using, and for the LED, you hook a resistor between L and 0vdc. The value determines how sensitive it is. I used a 200Ohm and it seems to work fine.. I have the index-pulse ticked and the timing-pulse ticked in the "input signals". and assigned both to pin 15. What else do I need to do? |
OT / For Sale: Multiple Solutions for Spindle Speed Control
Servo Wizard
For Sale:
New in original box Omron 3G3MV-C2022 VFD inverter drive. 230VAC, 3PH and rated at 3HP. The drive accepts both analog and frequency reference signals. Using the step signal from Mach2 you can control the spindle speed without using any intermediate processes or hardware. I also have a new Yaskawa with the same specifications as above drive with the exception of it being rated at 1HP. New in original box: Red Lion Frequency to Analog Voltage Converter + Has an integral power supply which operates on 115VAC and will process 0 to 10kHz frequency input and outputs analog voltage proportional to the input frequency. Accomplishes the same task as the drive above but it is an intermediate process. Would be a great solution for spindle speed control for applications using an analog only drive. Two Analog Amplifiers new in original box: (picture in group photos) Theae cards are for use with the PWM signal that Mach2 distributes through the PC parallel port. Do not confuse this hardware with the single OPT AMP circuits that have been associated with non-linear out put from the PWM spindle speed signal. These are a professionally engineered piece of hardware that is manufactured by a company that has electronic components orbiting in outerspace. The cards have a low offset and a high gain that will will facilitate a true 0 to 10VDC and can go as high as 20VDC should the application require it. Power for the analog output requires an isolated 24VDC power supply. When I tested the hardware Mach2 was operating at 45kHz with the PWM base frequency set to 45Hz. (45,000 / 45 = 1000). The maximum speed for the selected pulley ratio was set to 1,000 RPM. (1 / 1,000 = .001) Starting at 1 RPM the analog voltage output was .001 and with each increase of 1 RPM the voltage increased by .001VDC and continued to do so until the commanded spondle speed was 1,000 RPM |
index/rpm sensor-x and z axis
gee I'm feeling dense....
I've set up the sensor but haven't been able to witness its function in the readouts. I believe it's okay but do I have to re- wire the motors/signals to conform to the XZ for lathe? Or, can I just use XY and re-lable the Z DRO to Y to get the axes I want? In mill the Z is the spindle axis..but in lathe the Z won't be used? oh boy... I'm confused.... Help... John |

Version 4.0a
Art
Hi All:
Version 4.0a is online. It will be moved to 4.0's slot as the new lockdown when its tested. It is also possible to have OEM button calls to the button functions Run, Pause, Rewind...ect so they can be hooked to an OEMInput line. Les Newell's Pipe version of KeyGrabber is in the relase but untested.. .We'll see how it goes. This is an extra thread which control message passing in its own thread, so should be faster. A box has been placed around the MDI window to aid in visability, the IJ mode on the diags is fixed as well. Olivier's french screens have been updated. The Rutex tuner has a port selector. The OCX is now functioning properly from VB as well. I have kept the changes low until it actually locks down properly, I will then begin more major modifications as I won't have to worry about the lockdown being too buggy. I have had very few problems with 4.0, even though many have upgraded for the first time in a long while... Thanks, Art www.artofcnc.ca |
