Thing is, Windows has had API¡¯s to handle all that stuff for you for ages. If you let Windows handle it, your files even show up in Explorer (quick links and all that) so you can open from there,

also if there is not good rigidity the bit will chatter and make its own mess. ideally if you are moving from with grain to across grain you should change the feed speed. but i doubt that is possible
