Learn to use Regedit.
You can script things and then create desktop shortcuts to blow
out and rearrange things as desired.

thanks i should have guessed it was some stupid windows
"feature" that no one wants. Should i sue Gates for the broken
bits? will check to see if it is turned on. as far as i know
off is the default but this computer?
